Crewe Diesel Preservation Group’s 47712 “Lady Diana Spencer” is seen working 5Z11 Carlisle - Carlisle at London Road Jn on 14/04/2023. This was the ECS for the 47712 Cumbrian Mountain Anniversary tour to mark 10 years since 47712’s preservation. Originally part of the BR Scotrail fleet of 12 “shove duffs” modified for push pull workings, this loco now has a matching DBSO/Mk3 set courtesy of LSL.
It was practically dark as Reading and Northern's freshly painted 250th USA SD40-2 was pushing the Lehigh Scenic Gorge train into Jim Thorpe.
Pushing the camera to ISO 51200 and reducing the noise via Lightroom AI, this image is actually pretty tits.

The giant plated lizard is the second largest lizard species found in South Africa, after the monitor lizard, and they are known to attain a body length of approximately 690 mm. Giant plated lizards are rupicolous, which means that they live among rocky outcrops, mostly on the upper slopes of granite hills. Giant plated lizards are shy and hard to approach – an individual will often retreat into rock crevices at the slightest disturbance and inflate its body, effectively wedging itself into the crevice and making it very difficult for anything to dislodge it.
Danum Valley, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia
On one of our excellent night's in Borneo's special Danum Valley, we came across this shy Loris. I was slightly unprepared, and didn't have time to setup my off camera flash, so ended up using the flash mounted on the camera. Unfortunately this created unwanted shadows and some serious eyeshine. This shot was one that I actually took in between the firing of the flash, with just the torch light. It was terribly under-exposed, but with the ever increasing ability of editing software, I was able to push this image 5 STOPS(!) to produce and image that is not all that bad. Okay, if you zoom in you can see some artifacts here and there, but without pixel peeping it's a useable image. Quite amazing.
