Puppet of the month club.

Very reminiscent of shadow puppets from South East Asia, but not so intricate in design. Shows are often very political.

Taken in low light and with a little added texture.

This is from one of the first rooms you enter in the center...it is a huge room filled from top to bottom with puppets of all sorts. The room is dead silent, except for the sound of a random puppet moving...different puppets at different intervals...sometimes you don't see which puppet has moved, the only clue being a moving limb or noticing that one puppet has moved from one position to another. The effect is very very creepy!

From Amy's book Bend the Rules Sewing. I added a pennant banner instead of the trim. I found it difficult to find a tension rod substitute with spring fit rod ends found in Bunnings for DIY version for those in Australia.

Chinese puppet show

During the day, we came across this Chinese puppet performance. We were enthralled, but there seemed to be nobody else interested in watching. Maybe they were just rehearsing for an evening performance?
