Getting ready for a puppet show...
These shows are based on folk lores. The story was sung by these folk singers.
Giant puppets dwarf their human counterparts in a production of Menotti’s opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors. Three kings are obliged to spend the night in humble circumstances as they follow the Star of Bethlehem.

His eyes are mild; his hands are those of a king
– as king he was born.”
The singers mostly relinquished the stage to the puppets (operated by skilled teenagers). But for key musical moments, they joined their towering counterparts for maximum effect.

Puppetness. She's sitting on the ground through the whole animation so luckily the bottom part of her skirt won't really be visible.
Her belts and necklaces are just to be added now. Well, as are her hands and head... and accessories...
Her sleeves are more puffy than they look and they will be stuffed before the animation as well.
Once again Moon Amore has created a fabulous gacha outfit for Halloween called Puppet Show. I actually won this rare dress on the third pull. It has a hud for half a dozen colours but naturally I chose red!

Watching the Wayang makers making puppet as described by Enday (pak Entang's son), it was an interesting activity. There were splitting wood, painting, putting the clothes, and carved decoration of the puppet’s head.

To make one puppet, it takes 7 working days and in one month pak Entang can produce about 40 wayangs with the help of his four children.

YOU MUST PRESS L--this seriously looks stunning on black
This is my first image of my Ophelia series which is encompassed in my Shakespeare In Love project, where I explore female characters in Shakespeare's plays. I'm beginning with Ophelia and this is the first of three images (the other two will come next week).
Needless to say it's been an interesting journey so far; and it's only just begun! I learned a few valuable lessons about shooting with a model. Thankfully, I have a superb model who will do a re-shoot with me for the other two images (explained in my blog).
Keep an eye out next week for more Ophelia images and possibly some Juliet ones too!
Now that summer is officially over I can hunker down and get some work done ..right now I'm working on getting an inventory of puppets.
Exhibition in Bristol on the 26th, please come. This guys gonna be there, riding a bike....
