Ever since I was a little kid - every one of my shadow puppets looks like this. It's the only one I could ever do. True to this day.
A little glimpse into my (madness, silliness, goofiness, oddness, weirdness, insert your own description here) that I am shackled with each day:
I am currently on a 23 day rotation with posting to different albums. The number fluctuates over time as albums begin and are completed. The current number is 23. I have a list that I carry in my wallet that lets me know which album I am on. When this system was in its infancy - I noticed a deficiency in the inherent rigidity of the system in that there was no way to post something that wasn't already part of an album without creating a new one. 'Random' emerged as a solution.
Sometimes I have used 'Random' to go on rants or raves about social issues, environmental issues or personal issues. Sometimes I have used it as a vehicle to post an image that doesn't fit in so much with the other work I am currently creating. Of the current 23 - I have two 'Random' slots. One at the middle and one at the end.
As I was looking around for an image to post today I stumbled across this one and thought: "Well, that's random."
I may have issues.
I hope that you have a wonderfully random Wednesday.
The first time I did Cedar's hair I did it in a rush just so I could get photos of her as soon as possible because she's so fantastic, but I did want to redo it to make it look more clean and voluminous. It took me over 3 hours to do her hair and I think she has around 250 curls, but it was totally worth it because she looks absolutely spelltacular!

I cheated, eliminated all the black edgies by processing it in Photoshop's puppet warp filter. I was able to stretch the original so that no black space showed.
Ok I don't really own the official lego Starkiller figure, so I'd make do with what pieces I had.
Let imagination work wonders with this attempt at one of my favourite characters 'Galen Marek, aka Starkiller' and see him in this interpretation.
In this shot I wanted the notion of Vader standing behind his apprentice, pulling the strings, guiding him and controlling him - master of puppets.
There, ain't that better?
I put alot of time into him, especially the design. I wanted to make sure it was as accurate as possible. Even added the finger thingys or what ever he has.
What do ya think?
Inspired by the German puppet theater Augsburger Puppenkiste I built a working marionette for Jonas' Puppenkiste .
I have never ever touched a string puppet in my live before, but it was very interesting to learn about how they work and training myself to tame the dragon the best I can. You can see the result in the video and the complete string puppet on this picture.

In 1998, Paperhand Puppet Intervention’s directors Donovan Zimmerman and Jan Burger met and began a collaboration of epic proportions. Since then, 25 years ago, they have been using papier-mâché, cardboard, bamboo, your old house paints, cloth, and other assorted junk (treasure to us!) to create incredible giant puppets, masks, shadow plays and spectacle performances for all ages.
Paperhand Puppet Intervention’s mission is to use diverse styles of puppetry and artistic expression to create works that inspire, promote social change and are deeply rewarding for all involved. These styles include: giant puppets, rod puppets, shadow puppetry, masks, stilt dancing and anything under the sky that strikes our fancy.
Our vision is inspired by our love for the earth and its creatures (including humans). We will synthesize many art forms including, but never limited to, sculpting, painting, dance, music, improvisation, costume design, set design and theater. We are committed to creating multi-scaled and multi-disciplinary puppet performances that support this vision.
They perform at various venues throughout North Carolina from August till late September.

The trailer portion of a Levi Puppet Rodeo truck that toured the country back in the late thirties to the mid forties. The rodeo was originally created for the 1939 World's Fair and featured fully automated hand-carved wooden puppets dressed in miniature Levi's clothing. After the end of the fair the show traveled around the country in trucks like this presenting shows in small towns nation wide.
This truck is located at the Legends Motorcycle Emporium in Springville, Utah.
