Dyoji and Petunia Buttercup as Pup O' Lanterns. :) (A pat on my back: I did Dyoji freehand without a premade template).
At eight or nine weeks of age this fox pup is not unfamiliar with the sight and smell of man but never before on such an intimate basis. The facial expression and ear position indicates concern but not fear and certainly not hostility. When I looked into the eyes of this animal I felt that I was seeing an intelligence that in many respects exceeded my own.
This was my last check of the hive last fall. I hadn't noticed that the pups had joined me. They are intrepid little suckers.
or so pup says. As he brought his captains hat, he seemed to think that made him in charge. Rocky and Fracis didnt seem to mind much - I think because they were having to much fun playing with stuff anyway.

On the trail of the rabbit. She never catches them, and wouldn't know what to do if she did! We did find a myxy rabbit once and she just yelled and yelled till I came and picked it up! No need to worry about rabbits there then!

Back in late November I went to see the seal pups in Norfolk. It was a beautiful morning and there was lots of seal activity. Unfortunately I missed photographing any seal pups being born by minutes.
The beaches are closed to protect the seals; they used to have some problems with humans and dogs getting too close to the seals. However you can walk along the dunes, which is a safe distance from the seals so they are not disturbed.
Please note I have a telephoto lens which has an equivalent focal length of 600mm, which basically means that even though I may look near to the seals, I am in fact very far away.
