Another from the car driving south on the I-5.
These things have always seemed a bit creepy to me.

Sandfields Pumping Station, Lichfield, erected by the South Staffordshire Waterworks Company. The building contains the preserved 65 inch condensing beam engine built in 1873 by G & J Davies.

On a recent trip to find historic, vintage, ghost towns and old mining sites in eastern Idaho the plan was to visit this town. An antique gas pump stands rusting next to an old building (could it have been the store at one time). Later found out this pump was moved to May from further up river, the Royal Gorge Hot Springs which has a lot of history in itself.

I've spent much of the past month documenting an extensive system of dams, canals and hydro plants in northern Colorado. Beside one of the rural canals, I found this old milk truck converted into a shelter for an irrigation pump.
I had the hardest time figuring out what to wear as a top to go with these tight shiny silver leggings and finally had to settle for my black nylon spandex semi sheer long sleeve leotard with a stretch belt to accent my waist and my open toe pumps with their 5½" heels to finish off the ensemble.
I just love how these hug all the curves of my hips and legs, don't you?

It was time to finally give my feet a rest from their evening out wearing these ankle strap peep toe stiletto pumps! They are quite nice aren't they? My curves are nice too!
After a nice evening out at Freddie's Beach Bar, I'm back home & wrapping up the evening with a few pix of my ensemble!

Water pumps like this remind me of the US more than of home for some reason. I guess I saw them more in popular culture growing up in cities than I did in the real world. There's one not far from me that ever type I come across it, in an otherwise quite and lonely part of the fens, I'm reminded of Half Life II. Not sure what this says about me, nothing probably good :)
The setting around this one was less photogenic than the sky was dramatic (and shortly after, wetting), hence the upward shot. But I think the black and white processing is again a nod to old sheet film photos of the US mid-west.
So what do you do when your wife is surfing the internet wearing her new pink pumps? Easy: Take as many pictures as you can! ;)

One of Dundee Energy's smaller pump jacks works to lift crude oil from under the farmland of Chatham Kent.
Way out in cenral west Victoria. Digging in last year's archives here ... finally getting around to culling and processing.
