The cornbread was "sweet" and as we say in the South, "If cornbread was meant to have sugar in it, it would be called cake".
Holy crap I love that place. Amazing pulled pork. I got so excited that I ate half the beans and a big chunk of the pork before I realized I needed to immortalize it with a photo.
Kettle potato chips with dry rub pulled pork - reminiscent of kalua pig. Food was all right. Too bad about the service and missing stuff from the order. Firehouse Grilling Co. food truck.
Pulled pork was on the menu this weekend. And it only took 12 hours to cook.

We had the BBQ Pulled Pork, which was insanely good!!
I made the pulled pork in the Crock Pot yesterday. No recipe...I winged it for the dry rub, braising liquid and sauce...but I did have to go light on the vinegar in the sauce as the boyfriend isn't a big fan.
I also made the rolls...potato rolls from a recipe given to me by the boyfriend's boss. These will be made again.

These Cherry Coke Pulled Pork Sandwiches are crazy good. I think this is one of my best creations to date. The spiciness of the pork, with the sweetness of the Cherry Coke based barbecue sauce and the creamy goodness and crunch of the cole slaw makes an amazing combination.

A nice Pulled Pork "competition" between the Weber OTP including smokenator, WSM 57 (22,5inch) and the BGE XL.
Okay so not a real competition as there are always to manny variables; meat is always different, ed. Still a nice thing to do.
In the end we did notice some difference especially about the tenderness. The BGE XL came out a little on top and after it the WSM. Have to say the thermometer of the OTP wasn't calibrated well,... unfortunately during almost the complete session the dome temperature was about ~20 degrees higher.
Well,.. we had loads of fun making this Pulled Pork. Best thing loads of PP. ;-)
