This one had been standing in his little puddle since the tide was last in that morning. It didn't take him long to get in the sea.
The puddle on this corner always used to fascinate me on my way home from school in the dark - inky black, oily, lit by yellow streetlights, full of leaves, rain battering the surface. I saw a puddle here and felt the same feelings, being 17 again.
When all the world is a hopeless jumble,
And the raindrops tumble all around,
Heaven opens a magic lane.
When all the clouds darken up the skyway,
There’s a rainbow highway to be found,
Leading from your window pane ...
To a place behind the sun,
Just a step beyond the rain ...
One of the many fun aspects of PUDDLE is being able to shop for dolls, clothes, wigs, and accessories in person.
Because there was a mix up with the ballrooms, the vendors were really scrunched together this year. I didn't do a great job of taking photos of each vendor's table, but I think Requiem got everyone in her photos. You can find a list of all the Vendors here: puddlestyle.com/vendors.html
It finally rained today. My classroom is in the inner part of the building, so I didn't know it until school was out. The kids had fun playing in the puddles on their way home. I couldn't resist joining in. :)
I guess that means it's the ripple effect in more ways than one. ;)
