Wikipedia: Mud-puddling, or simply puddling, is a behavior most conspicuous in butterflies, but occurs in other animals as well, mainly insects; they seek out nutrients in certain moist substances such as rotting plant matter, mud and carrion and they suck up the fluid. Where the conditions are suitable, conspicuous insects such as butterflies commonly form aggregations on wet soil, dung or carrion. From the fluids they obtain salts and amino acids that play various roles in their physiology, ethology and ecology.
On a very rainy day, a moment broke allowing a photo from under the canopy of my SUV trunk. The various patterns and subtle changes in color, made an interesting journey for the eyes as they meander through the image.

After all the recent rain there are a lot of puddles in the unmade Ridgeway Road. After ten years I am used to driving along that road, 5mph max!
Some shot from a while ago ... I've not done much city or landscape photography these last months, but I still had a few images waiting for upload ;-) Take care, my friends !
Tried to get reflections of the fells but couldn't get the angle so you end up with a photo of a puddle, lets call it a tarn, sounds better ;-)
