He freaks me out a number of times when he's asleep now that he's ill. He's so still! Heh, I remember the feel of holding Tofu when she only just passed away, the jelly like frailty of it all. Pudding sleeps so soundly that if it wasn't for the belly moving ever so slightly with every beat of his heart, I'd think that he's left me. Meh.

Mm, Dumpling and Sushi will hate to be in this position (too insecure). Not little Pudding. Hee, hope he'll still like sleeping on my palm when he's fully recovered.

13Nov update:

Pudding and I (with Andora for her tooth check) just came back from the vet. Got more of his antifungal medicines. Learnt that his heart attack (my guess, thanks to annia's input) could have been caused by his tooth clipping and/or the mole documentary on animal planet.

Mm, hope my little boy can continue to grow stronger everyday! :D I'm getting increasingly hopeful too. He's improved so much from last week!

Pudding has come a long way. Last week when the vet told me to come back in a week, I didn't make an appointment when I came out -- I was afraid that he wouldn't make it, and would result in me having to call and cancel the appointment because he died. I dreaded having to say that, and decided to just wait it out, and walk-in when it's one week. :) He made it!

This was the first time I had bread pudding which I had ordered by mistake. If you ask me...I'd say it was like eating a gourmet bowl of soggy bread topped with fruits. It was rather delicious but I don't think I would order it again. Wishing everyone a fabulous weekend.

I don't remember where this was, but it was somewhere in Tokyo. Was out wandering Kappa Bashi buying cookware with my wife when we decided to find a cafe for a break. Stumbled onto this nice cafe that had great pudding and coffee. Love the cups and the presentation, everything was just perfect.

Ok, this time, it was me who had the pudding! A nice meal by the canal was finished off with Sticky Toffee Pudding, one of only a handful of desserts I bother with. I would normally have custard with this, but it was listed on the menu as coming with gingerbread ice-cream, so thought I would give it a go. Will ask for custard next time though!

Land once owned by the Georgia Pacific Lumber Company the City of Fort Bragg has since made it into a series of walkways along the coast from the city of Fort Bragg north to Pudding Creek. This picture was taken along that trail.

Tom Pudding was the name given to the tub boats on the Aire and Calder Navigation. The name derives from their resemblance to a string of black puddings or perhaps Yorkshire puddings and the first name of original constructor.

On reaching the docks, the boats were lifted by large hydraulic hoists, from which they could be discharged directly into seagoing ships, a system which proved so successful that it competed against rail until 1985.

As I have quite a lot of milk I thought I'd have a little "Mr Kipling" jam sponge pudding and custard.

The book is A Subaltern's Odyssey by R B Talbot Kelly. He was an artillery officer in the Great War. The book is illustrated with his very good sketches. I only paid £2.75 for it earlier this year via Abe books.

Pudding (actually it was Polish word "budyń") was a nickname for the locomotives EU07 that were sold to PKP Przewozy Regionalne (a division for regional passenger trains of Polish State Railways). The locomotives were modernized to EP07 standard with some improvements and then renumbered onto 1001 onwards up to 1069 and painted in new livery - white/ cream/ red. The nickname came just from this colours.

The history was rather sad. After more less a year, a new decision was taken - that all long distance train would be operated by PKP Intercity so all these locomotives were reassigned to other operator and now they can be seen in usual PKP Intercity paint scheme.

With Trenitalia taking an involvement in the running of the WCML from today I find it apt to post something featuring their other UK operation - c2c. The chosen example is 357020 passing Pudding Mill Lane DLR station with 9B09 from SHoeburyness to Liverpool St via Barking & Stratford.

Trenitalia has been the operator of the c2c franchise since 2017 - managing the day-to-day running of services between London Fenchurch St and Shoeburyness. They claim to be one of the UK's most punctual and popular train services and boast about their award winning status on their website.

Trenitalia is the passenger rail arm of the Italian state operator - FS Italiane. They were brought into the First group West Coast bid as the specification demanded an operator with high speed rail experience, which they have gained through the Frecciarossa network in Italy.

They seem to be getting on fine with this operation, but the West Coast Main Line is in a totally different league in comparison. As a common user of the WCML route I can only hope they are a success and maintain - or improve upon - the high level of service provided by the Virgin group.

Winter has come. The cats are cold. They cuddle under the blankets to stay warm. Love these cats so much. They bring so much joy to so many.

Pudding: 2009-04 Jul 2021

I don't know for sure that Pudding is dead, but it seems highly unlikely that she escaped the fire that destroyed my apartment Sunday morning.

She was a timid and gentle soul who was afraid of loud noises. Fireworks led up to the fire, and when I tried to rescue her, I couldn't find her.

Good bye, my sweet, sweet girl. I will never forget you. I love you with all my heart, and I miss you terribly.

i've visited curry's electricals. of the three possible freestanding electric cookers non were in stock and no delivery date could be given. with the way things are the cooker remains on hold for the forseeable future. let's just say it's the least of any of the current problems. it's almost rude on my part to even think of it as a problem more something to look forward to ...

ps i'm not recommending any of these cookery adventures. they suit my personal taste. photographing to encourage myself to eat more healthily ...

i've created a new group www.flickr.com/groups/cooking_is_my_hobby/ to gather ideas and encourage myself to continue with healthy eating by learning from others if you're interested in cooking, sometimes or a lot, or simply enjoy the cooking of others, you're always welcome ...

Just out of simmer oven - 10 hours at 120C in water.

a wee bit late this year but it will be fine.

I have been making this pudding recipe for a long time. I adapted it over the years, critically appraising each pudding and deciding on changes to the recipe. ..but after this experimental tweeking phase it has become a stable recipe for past decade.
