A Heston Christmas pudding waiting to be devoured at Astley Castle. Hoping that all my flickr friends have a jolly Christmas and a peaceful New Year!
Yorkshire Pudding
2 large eggs, 150ml milk, salt and pepper to taste. Brief whisk. Leave for 30 minutes.
125g plain white flour. Sift into the bowl and whisk to smooth a batter. Leave for 30 minutes.
1tbsp cooking oil into 20cm cake tin (about 8" diameter). Place in hot oven for 15 minutes to warm up.
Quickly whisk batter again for a few more air bubbles, pour into cake tin and return to the oven as quickly as possible.
If making a roast (chicken, beef, etc), coincide putting the batter into the oven at the same time as removing the roasting joint. Turn the oven up to 200C (about 400F) and do not open the door for 15 minutes!
After 15 minutes check the Yorkshire pudding has risen. If the surface is browning more on one side, then turn the pudding as appropriate. It should only need another 5 minutes at most.
Done! Serve with lashing of home made gravy.

It's called Chocolate soufflés in the recipe, but I think it's more like a pudding...
Ingredientes
- 2 cucharadas cacao en polvo sin azúcar
- 2 cucharadas de semillas de chía
- 100 mililitros de leche
- Media cucharada de miel para endulzar
- Un toque de café con canela
- Dos fresas
En un vaso pon la leche fría y añádele las semillas de chía. Espera unos 15 minutos a que las semillas doblen su tamaño y tenga esta especie de textura de pudding. Entonces añade el cacao en polvo, la miel al gusto y el chorrito de café con canela. Parte las fresas y ponlas sobre tu pudding.

Even though we call it halwa, the consistency of this halwa is more like pudding. It relies on the natural sweetness of dates, and can be eaten as dessert or spread like a jam on toast for breakfast
