As I have mentioned before, last year we adopted to precious cats: Pudding and Shadow. Bread pudding. The first time I've made it for... for... for... well, ages. It came out well and seemed popular :-) Crispy on top, soggy underneath, and I soaked the sultanas in sweet sherry beforehand.
It followed roast tomato and red pepper soup (ie roast toms and roast peppers) finished with a dollop of plain yoghourt, and roast pheasant with fluffy roast potatoes, carrots, and buttered Sweetheart cabbage with toasted pine nuts. Urp.
My mother always made Plum Pudding for Christmas dinner but a number of years ago I started serving this steamed cranberry pudding with a butter, brown sugar, and cream sauce and it has become the tradition for my family. It freezes well and is tucked away ready for the day!
Do you think the refuse collectors will be delighted that the rubbish is wrapped up as if a Christmas pudding ?
No, I don't think so either but I do !
Pudding at Sugar Sweet Sunshine bakery in the Lower East Side (the ones with just yellow pudding are pre-banana pudding...puddings). Unfortunately everything has wheat in it and my attemps to bypass the wheat failed (I probably ate less than 1/3rd of the cup and I felt guilty about the bits of vanilla wafers I did eat!).

This elegant pavilion is one of two ‘pudding houses' set into opposite corners of the East Court. Their sweet toothed nickname stems from Tudor and Stuart times, when parties would retire here from the Dining Room to savour their pudding in the splendour of the grandest part of the garden.
