a closer look of the bread pudding.

Sean and I devised these for the annual Cookie party we attended...

the intent was to capture a banana pudding in a cookie--Success! Huzzah! This makes a semi-soft butter cookie texture, not as crisp as nilla wafers would be... enough to be a sandwich cookie, but not a whoopie pie. I used a shooter glass to cut out the cookies since they expanded a bit in the bake.

Cookies:

cream together 1 cup butter and 1 cup white sugar

beat in 2 eggs

stir in 2 tsp vanilla extract

Sfit together: 3 cups all purpose flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt

mix dry into wet, then fold in: 1/2 cup rough crushed dried banana slices

chill the mixture for a bit, and then roll out and cut out. bake at 375 for 8 minutes.

filling:

cream together 8 oz cream cheese, 1 pkg banana flavored instant pudding, 1 tsp vanilla, 2 cups confectioners sugar, and milk to thin if needed.

spread a dallop on one cookie, and sandwich it with another.

viola!

My fellow teacher ordered this pudding.

So I go to my mother's for Christmas and have to cook the dinner. These are the yorkshire puddings, not bad for someone who hasn't cooked properly since Sept in a strange house with limited cooking facilities..

Presenting my very first homemade bread pudding. It's pretty basic (made with Jimmy John's day-old and white chocolate chips), but it was really tasty.

The equivalent Japanese says "no peddling" - somehow this got spell-checked(?) into "puddings"!

Bed time - pre- sleep grooming - Pudding just has to make sure his baby brother is clean - such awesome cats. Such awesome pets. Love them to bits.

As I have mentioned before, last year we adopted to precious cats: Pudding and Shadow. Instead of inundating my Flickr Feed with their pictures and posts about their antics, I went ahead and created a Facebook page called: Pudding & Shadow - Flower Market Cats. People who like cats can follow them. there The page shows pictures of them with inspirational quotes to help encourage people in their lives. This is an example of one of the pictures shown on their page.

Four sided sea cucumber, Sea pudding (Isostichopus badionotus).

Isostichopus badionotus is a large deposit-feeding sea cucumber found throughout the Caribbean and is very common in Bermuda. As a member of Echinodermata, the sea cucumber has a water vascular system with tube feet, pentaradial body symmetry, a dermal endoskeleton and mutable connective tissue. I. badionotus is a crucial component of the marine food web. As a bioeroder, this species is responsible for mixing the sediment and recycling detritus. Sea cucumbers are gonochoric and have external fertilization. I. badionotus is also commercially important. There is a large fishery in Asian countries where the body wall of sea cucumbers is considered a delicacy.

Well, they had to go somewhere from the factory! Does this answer the question - tart or pudding?

There does seem to be a distinct lack of Bakewell Puddings or Tarts in the display!

christmas pudding christmas cake

Bread and butter pudding made with challah and figs soaked in brandy. A bit too dry - but good with vanilla ice cream.

Pudding #52 for the Treasure Hunt

Pudding at Sugar Sweet Sunshine bakery in the Lower East Side (the ones with just yellow pudding are pre-banana pudding...puddings). Unfortunately everything has wheat in it and my attemps to bypass the wheat failed (I probably ate less than 1/3rd of the cup and I felt guilty about the bits of vanilla wafers I did eat!).

Despite raspberries being in the photos, the chocolate is actually paired with orange extract. Homemade coconut milk is the foundation for this pudding.

En al bijna afgekoeld ook... Hoe lang zullen die weer mee gaan ? Hopelijk heb ik er morgen ook nog eentje.

Last year I made my first ever batch of Christmas puddings. I had two recipes two go by, one by Tamsin Day-Lewis and the other by Nigel Slater, each one had nuts in which David and my Dad hate in christmas puddings, which ofcourse I had to leave out.

I fed them over two months with Rum, when it came to Christmas day, we tucked in to my homemade christmas pudding. Everyone said it was the best one they had ever eaten (and my dad has eaten alot of xmas pudding, its his favourite), he put in an order for this year then and there.

Today was the day to get the puddings done and out of the way. The house has been smelling of christmas all day thanks to the spices, and brandy (decided to try something different). I made a large batch and managed to get 4 large and 2 small puddings out of it, one will be for my parents, one for us and the others will be christmas presents. They are now cooking on the hobb for a couple of hours, once cooked they will put away to mature, fed with more brandy over the next few months until christmas. Oooo I can't wait.

I made a Christmas pudding at the weekend.

It is a recipe that I have used for the past 6 or so years and is straightforward and reliable and not too heavy. I think it is less sweet and sickly than most bought puddings.

1.1kg dried fruit (above)

(proportions can be varied. I used 500g ready to eat prunes (these result in a pudding with luxurious texture), chopped; a small bag of fancy mixed berries; a tub of glace cherries, and mixed sultanas, raisons and peel to make the weight up to the 1.1kg)
