Dear Editor
I attach some photographs from the event I held at the weekend to mark the 65th Anniversary of D-Day, which was an amazing success.

A further story will be on the local paper website shortly. We made the front page of the printed edition yesterday.
The event was attended by many veterans and also many young people, some even dressed up as evacuees. So much knowlegde was passed on. The Imperial War Museum sent representatives along to document the stories of some veterans.
We only raised about £300 to be split between the British Red Cross, British Legion Poppy Appeal and Help for a Hero, but the memories and friendships developed during the weekend are priceless.
I hope you find this of interest and if you would like any more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
Kind Regards
Sandy Warden

The quiz on Thursdays at Foxes is tricky, to say the least. Still, we managed to scrape together 15 out of 21, which was good enough for third place.
Personal grief: answering Taittinger instead of Bollinger. Rookie mistake.
The pub at our hotel, the bartender was a wee testy. And he talked so fast I could NOT understand him.
