Geza and Ilsebatten are great schmocus artists !

What I do here is nothing but ''covet'' their great works:)

OK..here is what Geza says about my pseudo something :''I would call the background Bokeh rather than Schmocus - though there is no clear distinction :))'' and surely he is quite right but as I'd like more of those who have no idea about ''schmocus'' to hear of the word, I'm just leaving everything as it is except for the tags.

A memorable day at the GC on 22 April 2015. 9F 92214 painted in BR lined green presented the opportunity to dress her up as 92220 'Evening Star'. She looked identical right down to her commemorative plates, credit to the railway and Timeline Events for making it happen.

She is seen here at Swithland Sidings with a chartered goods.

The real 92220 was the final steam engine built by British Railways and as a result was the only 9F that wasn't plain black. She resides at the National Railway Museum.

This French truck was the result of an unusual cooperation between different French companies and specially developed for the French Army. SUMB stands for Simca-Unic Marmon-Bocquet.

During the 1970s the French Army replaced these uneconomical vehicles for the Saviem TP3.

A few years before Amtrak, Southern Pacific purchased ten SDP45s from EMD to work its dwindling fleet of long distance trains. Numbered in the 3200s, they eventually made their way to working commute trains on the San Francisco peninsula. Once Caltrain took over the commute service and purchased its own equipment in the mid-80s, Espee's SDP45s went to the freight pool. They were all retired by 1990.

A few years after the ten real SP SDP45s left the property, six substitutes arrived. In the mid-90s SP contracted with Morrison Knudsen to purchase a fleet of EMD SD locomotives rebuilt to SD40 specs. Six of the units were constructed from SDP45s originally produced for Erie Lackawanna. Since these locomotives (SP 8691-8696) were similar to the ten SDPs owned by SP, calling them "Psuedo-3200s" seemed fitting.

On a fall afternoon in November 1998, I caught the SP 8692 leading an empty sugar beet train north through the Devil's Garden on the Black Butte Subdivision. At the time, sugar beets were moving from growers in Central Oregon to Northern California for processing.

This image is the original wide angle image I took of this train. The location is near the former siding of Graham, California. Note that the background is dominated by the lava flow that forms the trackside area known locally as the Devil's Garden. Lake Shastina, a major North State recreation area, can be seen at the top of the image.

I couldn't bring myself to literally break anything I own, so like many other members of the group, I resorted to using Photoshop to try to create the look of a gold repair!

Wiki definition of a pseudocrater: a volcanic landform which resembles a true volcanic crater, but differs in that it is not an actual vent from which lava has erupted.

Working with my new ND 6 stop filter in overcast was a bit of a wash, especially with long exposures blurred by the wind added into the mix. Yet, the added color depth from the filter gave this pseudo IR processing some interesting textures!

I noticed this ND filter is quite good at differentiating green hues. I look forward to testing as I'm hoping it'll replace my polarizing filter in more instances. Anyone else using the Breakthrough Photography filters?

note: this is my first day using this "new to me" lens. i am not used to the @3.5 feet minimum focus length. it felt a bit odd standing so far back from a subject. overall, i think i'll be using this lens a lot...like i do with most of my c/y carl zeiss lenses lately.

Millstrean River early thaw, in front of the Camp à Daniel about 12 miles West of my home. We've had exceptionally warm weather for the last 3 days with rain for the last two. However, this early thaw is nothing but a teaser, the worst part of winter is still to come.
