This is IT!
2014 is over and here s the list of brick creations made this year. It s been an active building time, it s been a good quality time at some Latlug 'n BalticLUG events, it s been a good year for collection expansion, etc.
This list is quite larger then my previous year's www.flickr.com/photos/47059345@N08/11584507215/ but still there are lots of things which haven't made it to the flickr, some of whom I have mentioned in my Eurobricks a-year-in-a-review topic www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=103926
Thanks for the great company all year long and I wish U all to have great brick time next year!!
This is rather good, a painting of the 1924 paddle steamer on a shop board on the pier at Herne Bay. A survivor of Dunkirk, it escaped scrapping following withdrawal in 1963 and has been subsequently restored. The artist here appears to be a P Norris, painted in 2014.
The steamer was built by William Gray & Company in 1934 as a passenger ferry on the Humber for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). She plied the Humber Ferry route between Corporation Pier in Kingston upon Hull in Yorkshire, and New Holland Pier railway station, New Holland, Lincolnshire.
During the Second World War she found service as a tether for barrage balloons and to ferry troops and supplies along the River Humber to wherever they were required. Due to the heavy fogs often encountered on this river, she was fitted with radar becoming one of the first civilian ships to have this facility
PAGANI ZONDA PS
A one-off special that was commissioned by Peter Saywell. It was finished in white with yellow striping on the side. The car is the only one with all four exhaust pipes placed in a row instead of a square. In January 2013 pictures surfaced of a redesigned Zonda PS. The PS has now been finished in bright blue and has the same rear-fin, air intakes, roof scoop and the spoiler as the 760RS & 760LH, but the exhaust pipes arranged in a row have now been replaced with the original layout. Also it features the same day-time LEDs as on the Tricolore, 760LH and the 760RS. What makes this Zonda unique is that its front arches are fitted with carbon-fibre fenders for improved down-force. Actually it's not a formal member of Zonda 760 series because the engine remains the same as before.
I believe this is the Jeanie Dean's Lounge, situated on the Main Deck, which was more for drinks than food. We didn't sit here or buy anything, but JJ and I did pop to the Caledonia Tea Bar on the Promenade Deck a couple of times to buy ice creams and a cup of tea. I didn't take photos of the Tea Bar.
Four rather down at heel Volvo B10Ms with Alexander PS bodywork which came from various subsidiary fleets within the Stagecoach empire. Three are allover blue, one has simply had the coloured parts of its livery painted blue
PS Waverley arriving at Custom House Quay in Greenock to pick up passengers for an afternoon cruise to Loch Long and Loch Goil.
PS Coaches of Abingdon came to Windsor coach park today (28/07/2025) with 6 of their 10-strong fleet. The origins of this Oxfordshire firm stem from Percival's Coaches run by the Skinner family who have been operating private hire vehicles since 1929. Percivals became Tourex then The School Bus Company before establishing PS Motor Services with Piers Skinner taking over the family business in December 2018.
The current fleet consists of 2x Temsa Safari HD, 2x VDL SB4000 / Van Hool Alizee, 3x Volvo/Plaxtons, 1x Volvo/Van Hool T9, 1x Dennis Trident / East Lancs and 1x Ford Transit.
It helps to have good contacts within this wonderful hobby and indeed it was a message from one such friend that prompted me to take an extended lunch break in Windsor today. Many thanks B!
