A friend special ordered a couple of book bags for a couple of kids she knows. i decided that it would be a good idea to make a plain canvas version before I start on the real thing. It's a little plain but I like it. Should I do something with it? Decorate it with buttons or something?

Here's the prototype chair, quickly scaled up from a shop sample that Shane and Mike put together a while back. I'll be reworking this design with an eye towards achieving a more traditional chair with individual legs rather than the runners.

Margaret models the AME really-rough prototype multitouch surface. This prototype was constructed in about two hours using found materials in DAR, including 3/8" plexiglas, rear-projection screen material (scotch-taped on top) and the venerable cardboard box, light-sealed with gaff tape. The camera was a Firewire Point Grey Dragonfly (aka complete overkill) borrowed from the AME TDL. We followed the MTmini tutorial and are tracking using The Beta.

Got pics of the first sculpt of Skonk today, quite a few tweaks here and there to be made but I'm pretty impressed with it so far!
Ears and feet need altering from this angle. Fur ruff is a bit off too, might ask for the patterning to just be printed on rather than sculpted in.
So excited though, it's looking great already! Kudos to Patch Together and their sculptor!

The A-Team (the youth committee that helped plan & facilitate Emoti-Con!) led an activity in rapid prototyping for all the youth at Emoti-Con! Students were given a challenge, and got a set of random materials with which to construct a model of a piece of technology that could solve that challenge.
