Some passenger action for MLW Monday: Rapido Trains HO scale FPA4 model looks great, but it's hard to stand up to the real thing. On 27 June 1981, VIA FPA4 No. 6771 and a CN RS18 blast through Brockville with Rapido express train No. 60 for Montreal.
C-GLBO, the prototype Bombardier BD-700-2A12 (serial number 70001), was one second away from touching down on runway 33 at Downsview Airport in Toronto, Ontario. It was completing its maiden flight. Originally named Global 7000, the model was subsequently renamed Global 7500 after flight tests confirmed a greater than expected range capability - 7,700NM at Mach 0.85. The chase plane during this mission was C-GERS, the prototype Global 5000 (serial number 9127). It had flown for its first time at the same airport on March 7, 2003.

Better than the 3D print for sure. Let me know what you think! Headed to South Africa for two weeks.
This is one of the many, quite varying prototypes that led to the 1000MB. Even within one model the looks could change, seeing that there are also pictures of the 988 with quite a different front end.

What would a barely disguised car with eight V8 engines look like?
Possibly like this iPhone pano photo of a passing car. Thursday here but still Wednesday in mid America so this is a Whimsical Wednesday salute to my friends Michael and Lynn in the Ozarks. And yes I know it is no longer the First of April :)
I recently aquired 6 incredibly rare Bionicle pieces. AFAIK 5 of these have never been documented before.
I am currently looking into some information on their origins with Nick/Brickthing and will be posting the findings in this twitter thread: twitter.com/OwlKid_/status/1621165173779070976
The red Routemaster has become internationally recognised as an icon of London. This bus, RM1, was the first of four prototypes for the Routemaster. It made its first public appearance in 1954 at the Earl's Court Motor Show.
Before entering service it underwent extensive testing, included skids at 30mph and a tilt test to at least 28 degrees. In 1956 it was trialled on Route 2 between Golders Green and Crystal Palace. Passengers were encouraged to share their views on this 'future London bus.'
1954 Routemaster prototype RM1, registration SLT 56, was on static display at the London Transport Museum Depot open day at Acton on 5 April 2025.

C-GSBA, a de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver, landing on runway 33 at Toronto Buttonville Municipal Airport in Markham, Ontario. It was arriving from Ottawa, Ontario.
Serial number 690 has been modified by Sealand Aviation Ltd. of Campbell River, British Columbia. It is now powered by a RED A03 piston engine produced by Raikhlin aircraft Engine Developments GmbH (doing business as RED Aircraft) of Adenau, Germany.
The V-12 powerplant produces 550 horsepower and runs on diesel or Jet-A fuel. It first flew in this configuration on February 23, 2023.

This aircraft began its career as 53-3732 with the United States Army on September 1, 1954.
Unfortunately, this aircraft was significantly damaged in an accident on September 20, 2023. Details are available here:
Made completely with scraps, this is an attempt to miniaturize the Vic Viper configuration in the smallest possible size. I found the solution to pilot comfort was having the test pilot in the prone position. I unexpectedly liked this throwaway design and I would like to revisit it soon.
D6700 is seen looking the part with its period rake of 'windcutter' mineral wagons and accompanying brake vans as it nears journey's end at Kinchley Lane, on the Great Central Railway near Swithland, with the 9S30 15:15 Loughborough Central to Swithland Sidings demonstration freight. This was just before the conclusion of the line's 'Railways at Work' mixed traffic gala.
It must be a-never-been-launched-prototype of a tool used for transportation in the 30s or 40s. The target market were students that have a homework or exam coming and need to study on the road.
It ends up in a shopping mall, somehow :D
Well, actually, this is one of a display in an art showcase in Pacific Place, Jakarta. I think the idea is interesting.
