Occupy Honolulu protester Lucas Miller getting arrested. He was held for 20 hours and reports that he was released without being charged.
Marking the 2nd Anniversary of the war in Iraq. Protesters marched along 42nd Street to the Recruiting Station in the middle of Times Square where 29 of them layed down in front of the station in an act of civil disobedience. They were arrested and led off in handcuffs.
Protest rally called by Mining Dependents at Kranti Circle, KTC Panaji on 19.3.18. Supreme Court stopped all mining activities effective 16.3.18 after cancelling all mining permits. We were invited to a May Day Protest yesterday. The protest was to protest THREE (3) different things. We are against two of them and not the third. So we decided not to go. Why can't people just pick ONE thing to protest and not try to lump everything together???????

The aim of the protest was to procure equal pension rights for British Army Gurkha soldiers, who had retired before 1997, when equality with British soldiers pensions was introduced. The protest ended when the British government agreed to talks with Gurkha representatives, who had massive public support.
The Gurkhas, are Nepalese soldiers, and have served in the British Army for over 200 years, participating in most major conflicts and operations all over the world.

Stumbled upon this protest in Westminster today. I had gone for the General Inspection of Changing of the Guard but never got past this unreconstructed facet of the labour movement with its dinosaurs (Corbyn, Abbott) hairy bearded older gents (and ladies too) Although as a disabled pensioner I empathise.
The village of Beitin is located less than five minutes from Ramallah. Overlooking the city from the northeast, Beitin is sandwiched between the two settlements Bet El, which also contains a military base, and Ofra. The main road between Beitin and Ramallah has been closed by an Occupation checkpoint, forcing residents from Beitin and surrounding villages to travel nearly a half-hour on an agricultural road to reach the city.
Residents held a protest against this closure. Hundreds marched toward the checkpoint, and were almost immediately attacked by Occupation forces.
