The new adaptation of Thomas Hardy's 'Far From The Madding Crowd' which was being filmed in Sherborne and is due for release in 2014.
I was part of a collaborative build at BrickFair Virginia 2024 which had participants build sections of movie or television sets. I was assigned two sections which would not be specific sets, but would enhance the studio layout.
My second section was a prop workshop with scattered props based on various alien related IP.

The Chakram is made from a thin piece of cardboard that I pressed Paperclay onto all around it to make it one solid peace. I carved the designs while the clay was still wet and painted everything in acrylics.
I helped move some stuff for Mikron Theatre Company (for the youth wing of said company) and that meant hauling my bulky carcass up a steep ladder and into their props loft space. What a treasure trove it is.
I'm still waiting for these items to arrive! Omigosh I had to pay an arm and a leg for those coffee mugs but it was totally worth it!!! I got her more ice cream both of the those frozen treat sets are from the Bandai company. The awesome little book bag is 1/3 size and was only $9 USD!!! *squeal* I want to start a prop hunting business!
These magnificent replicas of the original Star Trek working phaser props, were completed in 2005. They were based on painstaking analysis of the meager reference material of the time.

There is a compromise in the design, and you can see it here. In order to make the lines clean and give the plane a good slick shape I had to keep the props close together. The result is that each propeller's arc intercept each other.
So, there is a "thing-a-ma-jig" that keeps the propellers synched up and slightly out of phase...it never breaks and is a modern marvel of aeronautical engineering.
Plus I love how the light is reflecting off the canopy!
