In order to make tarpon a catch-and-release-only fishery, the following rule amendments are proposed. The proposed rule amendments would create a new rule (68B-32.001, FAC, Purpose and Intent) within the tarpon chapter, in order to convey that tarpon will be managed as a catch-and-release-only fishery. 68B-32.004, FAC, (Restrictions on Possession of Tarpon; Commercial Harvest Prohibited) would be amended to remove the provision that allows for a recreational bag limit for tarpon. 68B-32.006, FAC, (Allowed and Prohibited Gear and Methods of Harvest) would be modified to limit allowable gear to hook and line only, prohibit the harvest or attempted harvest of tarpon with a multiple hook in conjunction with live or dead natural bait (NEW), and to extend the rules into adjacent federal waters. 68B-32.007, FAC, (Purchase and Sale Prohibited; Transport and Shipment) would be amended to reduce the number of tarpon a person may transport or ship from two to one.

A new gallery (maybe temporary) at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery about the redevelopment of Birmingham (past developments).

Various models and pictures in here showing changes during the 20th century (including those that didn't happen).

Back at BM & AG for the first time in over 5 years (?) is the Model of Proposed Civic Centre.

I previously saw it 3 years before at the Museums Collection Centre (a storage site for items not on display) during an open day.

This is what Centenary Square could have looked like if this plan went ahead (we only got Baskerville House and the Hall of Memory was already there).

This model was designed by William Haywood, a special lecturer in town planning at Birmingham University. He supervised its construction by Baker Studios in Erdington over a 12 month period completed in 1941.

The model represents a variety of public buildings including a Planetarium, Natural History Museum, and City Hall, as well as extensive gardens and car parks.

A proposed rule by the Bureau of Industry and Security to control the export of intrusion software platforms has raised considerable interest within the security research community. Some companies worry that vulnerability testing could become much more burdensome under the regulations because of new licensing hurdles.

CSIS is convening a wide range of stakeholders including industry executives, senior policymakers, and security experts to discuss the implementation of the new rule.

There are several proposed etymologies for the name of Ogulin. Firstly that the surrounding woods needed to be cleared for a better defence of the town, so Ogulin received its name because of the resulting bare area ("ogolio" in Croatian) around it. There were a lot of lime-trees along the road from Ogulin towards Oštarije, and the people used to peel the bark, in order to get bass[clarification needed]. It is suggested that Ogulin got its name from the verb to peel ("guliti" in Croatian). Neither proposal is historically confirmed.

Through the Los Angeles River Revitalization Master Plan, the city has hundreds of community projects proposed, with some already taking shape. One such site, North Atwater Park, hosted a unique ceremony Oct. 9 where a private company donated funds to the non-profit group Friends of the LA River who, in turn, donated $970,000 to the city for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District’s Ecosystem Restoration Feasibility Study.

“The Corps has led a planning process, where we identified problems and opportunities along the river,” said Chief of Planning Division Dr. Josephine Axt. “We’ve narrowed our area of interest to an 11-mile stretch from roughly Griffith Park to downtown. This month, we’re starting our higher headquarters policy compliance review. We’ve done a lot of work that has resulted in alternative plans.”

In regards to the LA River, public safety remains the Corps’ number one priority. That said, there are three significant portions of the river that offer a semi-natural river bed; the Sepulveda Basin, site of the Paddle the LA River Program, the Glendale Narrows and 2.6 miles of soft bottom after the Willow Street drop structure which is an inter-tidal estuary.

“We have always enjoyed a partnership with LA County Flood; it’s been 70 years,” said Col. Mark Toy, Los Angeles District commander. “During that time, it has always been about flood risk management, the safety of our people and that’s why long ago we channelized the river. Now, we can look at things like flood risk management in the same sentence with ecosystem restoration and recreation.”

Ecosystem restoration projects, like this one, are a major share of the Corps’ workload. The District is also working on water quality improvements and recreation opportunities along the Tres Rios in the heart of Phoenix, Ariz. As Toy mentioned, it is all in keeping with the District’s motto, “BUILDING STRONG and Taking Care of People!”

A few air mattresses were brought to the lock in, and it was proposed that we try to fit as many people on one mattress as possible, to see if it would pop.

It didn't.

Proposal in the street with a man asking marry to his happy girlfriend

[19:29] Scout (scout.garfunkel) rubs her nose against yours, then kisses you back and smiles, then listens to you. "Are...you're asking me to marry you, Tori?"

[19:33] Tori (morrak) slips his arm the rest of the way around you, gently stroking his claws into your sweater as he looks back for a moment. Nodding finally, 'Y-yea I gu...' he cuts himself off and brushes his nose against yours before starting again, 'Yes... Scout, would you be my wife? Because I'd give anything to have you with me for the rest of my life, I can't imagine myself with anyone else.' he says quietly. 'Not even Belle, cause you know she's pretty but... You're perfect...'

[19:36] Scout (scout.garfunkel) reaches up with her other hand to cradle your face, then leans in and kisses you right after you finish talking. She pulls away to look you in the eyes and says "Yes, yes Tori. Ah will marry you. Ah can't imagine being with anyone else either!" then grins the biggest grin you've ever seen on her face.

The blue overlay is the proposed project footprint. The yellow overlay are the buildings that remain within the footprint. Some are vacant, the rest are still occupied by owners and tenants.

This Bing Maps Beta bird's eye view is more recent (late 2008?) than the maps of the footprint's west end, mid section and east end, and therefore it shows the vacant lots which where buildings used to stand.

Proposed Demolition

FEMA Funded Demolition

4/29/2014

Mostly interesting now for showing the pre-freeway configuration around San Jose Avenue.

It looks like the intent was to punch two new access points from what was then Bernal Ave through to Rousseau Street to avoid the very sharp turn required to enter it. At the time, before I-280 cut it off, Rousseau would also get you to Alemany.

Another thing that didn't happen: the "proposed new street" extension of Arlington through what is now the Glen Park BART station to Diamond. Instead we have the off-ramp from San Jose Avenue.

It's kind of surprising that the freeway remnant loop roads were named Still Street instead of reusing Calvert Drive's name.

The photovoltaic panels are each approximately 1.65m wide x 1m deep, arranged 2 wide x 3 deep, so the assembly is 6 panels, about 3.3m wide x 3m deep.

The frame is to be made from scaffolding. The back, front, right, and left top are 3m lengths. The left bottom is 4m long to suit the ground.

The model feels quite stiff vertically, but bends easily if a corner is lifted.
