i fell in love with this title after seeing it used in this.check out his stream if you havent. its very real and simple.
made me think..if your ever in the position where you ask someone this, you are giving more of yourself then the other person might realize,at least for me i dont trust easy, and for me to ask for a promise is very intimate, very trusting, very believing.
My sister,i was stuck on the blue tint really like it :) though it took me a bit to get the highlights on her face the way i wanted it. from a few days ago.

A beautiful pre sunrise pink glow over snow covered Brecon, hiding under it's misty blanket. Promise is what a new year and new photography is all about. There's always so much fresh promise to each moment of each day. Promise by Violent Femmes is perfect.
When you stand on the cliffs of the north sea before 6 in the morning and have this view in front of you, you know it's going to be a good day.

I can't see tomorrow
What the future holds
But I believe my heart knows enough
Ooh, though sometimes I'm confused
And I guess I stand to lose
I don't wanna risk missing your sweet love
And, ooh, if I knew
Ev'rything would end soon
I'd still choose to be with you
I can feel your body
Promise me the pleasure
Move me even closer to you
I can read your mind and
I believe it's time to
You don't have to ask
Just promise me this time
Won't be the last time
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Promise me forever
Don't just say whatever
A broken vow is better than none
Don't dare leave me in fear
As if you were not real
We both know this memory will live on
And, ooh, if I knew
Ev'rything would end soon
I'd still fall into your love
Promise me this night won't be the last
Promise me, promise me
Promise me this night won't be the last
That this won't be the last night, baby
Promise me this night won't be the last
Promise me this time
My thoughts about NYC:
Of all the cities on this planet, I can't think of one which fascinates me like New York City. Pictured in a thousand movies, New York sparked my imagination ever since I was a kid. I've been thinking about photographing NYC for as long as I can remember. To finally stand in front of its colossal skyline, with my camera, was such an overwhelming feeling. I've photographed many wonderful skylines but NYC's is truly special. Effortlessly, its architecture speaks of its glorious past, present and the promise of the future. NYC's skyline is as perfect as it gets.
At least to me, New York City was and remains, the promised land.
tech: it was a perfect day for cityscape photography. Partially cloudy day presented constantly changing lighting conditions. Clouds helped to keep the sunlight in check. I was able to wait for the sun to hit just the right part of the city at the right time.
Shooting this 13-frames wide vertorama however wasn't easy. I was on the boat ride around the lower Manhattan when I snapped this panorama. It was quite windy, boat was moving in a choppy sea and just standing on the boat's deck was a challenge, let alone trying to balance the camera to remain as vertical and steady as possible.
I set my Canon 5D MK3 to Manual mode and programmed it to snap 3 bracketed shots from -2EV through +2EV in quick succession. It worked well, or so I thought.
When I imported the 3 bracketed shots into Oloneo PhotoEngine for HDR processing, I realized that the boat moved a bit too much between the 3 exposures. Oloneo's 'auto-align' usually works very well but it can't align photos which have parallax shift between them. It messes up its algorithm which is understandable. I realized that HDR vertorama wasn't going to be possible so I opted for a conventional vertorama, using only the 13x mid (0EV) exposures. I was afraid at that point that Photoshop won't be able to align the 13 photos into a panorama because it took approximately 12 seconds between the first and the last shot. Boat moved quite a lot during this period and parallax shift was noticeable. To my big relief however, Photoshop did a perfect job and no errors were reported during the automated panoramic assembly process.
Working on a panorama 21,200 x 5,700 pixels with multiple layers is no easy feat. It takes a lot of resources and my (outdated) computer was begging for mercy.
Anyway, after 6 hours of hard work on this panorama, my vision was fulfilled. I finally got the shot of NYC I always dreamed about and I'm extremely happy with the result.

I've reprocessed this shot several times, and I think I finally have it to my liking. Now, I may look at it again in several months and say what was I thinking!
Sometimes you need to wait until you improve your processing skills to do a scene justice. Could I have done better in camera at the time of shooting this? Of course! For now, all I can do is to process (and reprocess) these shots to the best of my current ability. One day I will return to Antelope Canyon.

Here it is, the full image of the bag and some more of the feet, hehe. For some of my friends who complain about not seeing the whole bag in the previous pic. The tone much resembles that one since after playing with curves for some time, I still couldn't find something better. My bad!
Each broken promise is a cloud without rain, a love without kisses .... a joy without smiles ...
Ogni promessa non mantenuta è una nuvola senza pioggia, un amore senza baci....una gioia senza sorrisi...
me
Our camellia bush is loaded with buds, some of them getting ready to bloom, all planning for their big debut. Each bud a promise of a bright, colorful and beautiful future.
And perhaps a little symbolic on this first weekend of the new year. Good things are coming our way.
I can see it.
see what?
the promised land. and I mean to get there one day.
well, good luck with that. in the meantime, what I want is to get outta here.
me too, actually.
is that a promise?
sure.
Dawn at Durdle Door. The golden glow promised much but did not deliver. Minutes later the sky reverted back to grey - a fleeting opportunity.
