The Prometheus Statue at Rockefeller Center in New York City is one of the most famous sculptures in the world. After the Statue of Liberty, it is perhaps the most celebrated piece of artwork in America.~ www.shiningcollection.com/prometheus.html

Mount Prometheus at Tokyo Disney Sea's Mysterious Island. I couldn't get enough of this park. The amount of detail made it beyond photogenic; the park's icon, this volcano, was particularly easy to shoot.
This was the last photo I shot in the park the day I visited. The park hadn't closed yet but was starting to empty...yet I had to wait at least 20 minutes for guests with their selfie sticks to get their fill of selfies before I could snap. While selfie sticks were beyond plentiful throughout Asia, the guests at Tokyo Disneyland were especially intent on spending enormous amounts of time retaking their selfies to get the perfect shot, to the consternation of those of us looking for scenic shots. :)

Here's a different angle then whats usually seen of the famous Prometheus statue in Rockefeller Center. This is, arguably, one of the most well known and recognizable statues in America.
This month marks one year for my addiction to light painting. I have been driven to explore the world around me and see things often overlooked and rarely experienced by others. I have been inspired and encouraged by so many incredible people here on Flickr and have even had the pleasure of meeting some in person. Thanks to everybody for the support and inspiration.

Stealing fire and giving it to humanity whether they want it or not. Prometheus is a walking fire hazard with 6 flame resistant legs useful for maneuvering over any kind of terrain and environment whilst protecting itself from well...itself. Prometheus weaponry include 18 incendiary missiles, two anti infantry and drone miniguns, flamethrowers either side of the body with an additional peashooter for when precision is needed and lastly a massive third flamethrower on its underbelly setting ablaze anything in its path. Overall a nightmare for infantry for it having the capability's of creating hell on earth

Lubitel 166+, Fomapan 200, developed for 8 minutes, fomadon R09 1:40, fixed for 5 minutes. Scanned on Epson V600.
A quick little sumptin' I put together just for fun. Saw some pictures from an issue of Entertainment Weekly and thought they needed to be used to create a vintage space novel/movie poster.

Prometheus cinema in Pripyat.
Previous set of Pripyat here www.flickr.com/photos/timster1973/sets/72157643944616235/
Named for the nearby Pripyat River, Pripyat was founded on 4 February 1970, the ninth nuclear city in the Soviet Union, for the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. It was officially proclaimed a city in 1979, and had grown to a population of 49,360 before being evacuated a few days after the 26 April 1986 Chernobyl disaster.
Though Pripyat is located within the administrative district of Ivankiv Raion, the abandoned city now has a special status within the larger Kiev Oblast (province), being administered directly from Kiev. Pripyat is also supervised by Ukraine's Ministry of Emergencies, which manages activities for the entire Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Access to Pripyat, unlike cities of military importance, was not restricted before the disaster as nuclear power stations were seen by the Soviet Union as safer than other types of power plants. Nuclear power stations were presented as being an achievement of Soviet engineering, where nuclear power was harnessed for peaceful projects. The slogan "peaceful atom" (Russian: mirnyj atom) was popular during those times. The original plan had been to build the plant only 25 km (16 mi) from Kiev, but the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, among other bodies, expressed concern about it being too close to the city. As a result, the power station and Pripyat were built at their current locations, about 100 km (62 mi) from Kiev. After the disaster the city of Pripyat was evacuated in two days.

About 85% done. See how much stuff changes over time!?...This is probably missing parts of the old you may have liked, fear not I have them saved for other projects.
I wanted to deviate from the "space sausage" so I made alterations. Kind an homage to Studio Nue rather than Homeworld-esque . I just need to fill in greebly bits in between the panels.
It is unfortunate that this bears the same name as the upcoming movie, but my daughter has been doing Greek mythology and I had some macross stickers.

prometheus stole fire from zeus and gave it to the mortals in their dark caves. the gift of divine fire unleashed a flood of inventiveness, productivity and, most of all, respect for the immortal gods in the rapidly developing mortals. thus, it also made humans more god-like and this zeus found intolerable.
for this act, zeus punished prometheus by shackling him high in the mountains. each day, prometheus would be tormented by an eagle as it tore at his immortal flesh and tried to devour his liver. each night, as the frost bit it’s way into his sleep, the torn flesh would mend so the eagle could begin anew at the first touch of dawn.
this act also prompted zeus to create pandora's box...but that's another story (and image)

Ashes of the Singularity is a real-time strategy video game developed by Oxide Games and Stardock Entertainment. The game was released for Microsoft Windows on March 31, 2016.
On November 10, 2016, Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation was released. It is a standalone expansion that adds to the base game with more units, maps, and structures, as well as several interface tweaks. The total player count was also increased from 8 to 16 players. The expansion was later merged into the base game on February 16, 2017 after it became apparent that the separate games divided the player community.[1]
Prometheus is a Post-Human Coalition capital ship capable of incredible bursts of damage against single targets in Ashes of the Singularity.
