finally, something i am actually happy with. took me ages to do this.
and this quote kind of fits in with my mood at the moment. i think i am actually the happiest person in the world......
A* in GCSE English, i can't believe it.
and just added this is week 10 52 week project, theme: darkness.
i think the explanaton is kind of self-explanatory with the quote. yes, the world is dark in some places, but it is such a minority compared to the many positive places.
The project consists of five artworks on paper, each piece has been made from photographs taken by the artist, intervened with the technique of handmade collage. The additions are personal floral illustrations and clippings from old nature magazine.

The Heidelberg Project is an outdoor art project in Detroit, created in 1986 by Tyree Guyton as an attempt to bring back life and people in his childhood neighborhood, which at the time had become a dangerous place to walk, even during daytime. He and other volunteers have been working daily all these years to involve children in workshops and developped the whole area with a community garden and a creative art center, amongst others.
Sadly, a series of arson fires started earlier this year and amplified in the second half of november, so that no less than five houses of the project have been destroyed these last weeks. Only three houses now remain, and even if Tyree and the people from the community are not willing to give up, with only that few houses still standing it's unsure how the project will be able to go on.

No eggs!
Lots of goodies in my fridge (I went to the Food Show yesterday), but no eggs. I discovered this after I had melted the chocolate and butter for the chocolate truffle cake I had promised to take to an afternoon tea this afternoon. Just as well I had bought some nice cakes at the Food Show.
Here is a picture of the contents of the door.

This lunchtime I walked along the waterfront as far as the statue I think of as 'Solly'. Then I walked back again.
Max Patte's 'Solace of the Wind' (2008) leans north into the harbour's harsh gales while displaying its own inner tranquility. (Info from www.sculptures.org.nz/#/tours/waterfront-tour/solace-of-t...).

"Go Big or Go Home"
For Week 3's Project Runway Challenge the designers were asked to design a piece for a model on stilts for the first ever outdoor runway show.
For the EtsyMetal Translation:
Since this challenge was all about going over the top, this week make it BIG, over the top, larger and crazier than you would normally do, but still trying to keep it wearable and fashionable.
This BIG bracelet is made from polymer clay. It weighs a mere 9 ounces.
Thank you, EtsyMetal for letting me join the challenge this week!
Colorful swirly cupcakes. Believe it or not I baked these from scratch, modified to make rainbow swirls. It's from a cardamom cupcake recipe, which tastes good but looks bland. It needed color. Lots of color. I used about 10 bowls just to create ten different colors for the swirls. I think I'll try it again with an angel food cake recipe so that I can do lighter colors next time. The batter in this recipe was more yellow than I remembered.
"Hey guys? Guys! This ain't funny! Get me down from here! Hey! Hello? Anyone there? Someone help me!"
Dang, Running low left on space to upload. I think I got like 30% left =P
Dark Matter.
Project Black Brick is the result of a collaboration between @pleaseyesplease and @engineered_by_damon. Our goal was to bring to market a highly detailed and refined brick-built scale model of a classic automotive silhouette that you can build with your own hands.
The exhaustive efforts involved in bringing a custom brick-built car like this to market may not be immediately apparent. It isn’t a simple matter of bagging up some black bricks, throwing them into a box and shipping it out. It’s the result of a long and meticulous process that started with a concept design, leading to design changes, prototype builds, creation of a build sequence, user instructions, photography and visual elements, packaging design and artwork, quality inspection, bespoke painting of parts by a renowned automotive paint supplier and creation of a supply chain from label and sticker printing down to the correct type of foam needed to ship the painted parts safely to the customer. The Project Black Brick kit is a true passion project executed to the nines by two dyed in the wool enthusiasts who don’t know how to do it any other way. Seeing it received with such positivity throughout the automotive sphere has been incredibly rewarding, and I hope you enjoy a closer view here.
Cheers @damon_jones!

A tight grouping of small mirrors is a surprising alternative to the standard big one. And a fishnet stocking cut and pulled across a box-shaped coffee table, then lacquered, gives a plain surface texture.

Project 365 01/09/2017: Quite a busy afternoon with errands and didn't get much chance to take photos outdoor with natural lighting. By the time I got home it was already too dark. Looking for subjects I thought the dusty old bulb on the front porch lighting would look interesting in BW for today's photo.
