Some progress this week! Still lots to do and lots of waiting on materials to arrive...

the build for Legoworld 2017 has started.

Felt well enough on covid day 4 to make my chicken stew. Hits the spot! Still dealing with serious fatigue & low temperature even on Tylenol, but feel like I may have turned the corner toward gettin well. Here’s hoping!

Well, I'm finally getting my MO build started on.

I am trying to incorporate this build with some EU troops and have been crunched for time lately. I'm trying to depict a scene with angry protesters storming a building that has relations with the EU army. No, this isn't inspired by the recent attacks on the US Embassy's throughout the Middle East....

Please give me some CC! I hpoe to finish this by Sunday!

Some more progress on the A4 and I’ve decided one isn’t enough now so there’s a second in the works. I might end up building all 6 surviving members in the end‍♂️

I've started making a few toys to enter in the 2nd annual softies awards. Have you made yours yet? Full details here:

The current City Hall building is a near-50-year-old structure that has served the city well but, in its current state, is functionally obsolete. Built in 1969, the current City Hall requires major renovations that are complicated by the presence of friable asbestos and the way the electrical and mechanical systems were installed.

On October 3, 2017, Virginia Beach city council unanimously approved a resolution to proceed with the design of a new city hall building. The new three-story structure adjacent to the current city hall, between Buildings 1 and 2, is under construction and progressing well.

The future of traction for Sandaoling are the DF8B diesels and on 14 January workings to and from the Erjing Mine 2 were being shared by DF8B 0249, seen crossing the desert with empties, and a 'JS' class 2-8-2. Full dieselisation of these workings will have probably taken place at the beginning of February. Quite how long the deep mines will remain open for in the area with the downturn in coal consumption remains to be seen, but for sure there will be few if any visitors to report on it in the future.

Progress on the drag and side braces. Haven't been attached permanently yet, but I wanted to try them out (notice the copper pins holding them in place).

A little more progress today. Trim and doors all done. Windows are next, then cladding.

This is what progress in Chicago looks like and its also a perfect example why humans are very rarely to be trusted. This building was once considered a House of God. If that's true, why would a population so intent on preaching his gospel let these buildings be demolished? Is God a Capitalist?

6 days over a few weeks

A red brick wall stands where once there was earth. The last remnant of what grew there — a tree’s shadow — flits across the surface, ephemeral, rootless, and fading.

This is what remains of a landscape once protected, once green. The tree is not pictured, only its echo. The wall is not art, only assertion. It is the nature of shadows to vanish when the light moves on. And it is the nature of modern “progress” to mistake replacement for improvement.

After the Second World War, Britain’s Green Belts were established not as decoration, but as covenant — breathing space for generations unborn. Their erasure, now dressed as necessity, is a slow forgetting. The houses may be needed. But the trees were too.

This image is not a cry of rage. It is quieter than that — a whisper of what was, and what may never be again.

Let it be a witness.

My journey started going on sixty years ago when I tried on my aunt's stockings. Although back then I never thought of it as a journey, never wanted to go anywhere, it was just something that gave me immense pleasure. But after a few years I got fed up of the sight reflected in the bathroom mirror of a guy in stockings and lingerie. I wanted to look like someone who should be wearing them. That eventually led to the creation of Ursula, fully dressed with wig and makeup.

My thoughts on this subject are very much influenced by an article I read many years ago in the excellent American magazine "Tapestry". The author of the article pictured us on a line rather than the spectrum that seems to be very popular these days. The exact analogy she used was a railway line with us traveling along it on a train. Departure point is trying on a single item of female attire, such as your sister's panties, terminus is full medical transition and living full time as a woman.

However the train we travel in along that line should not be an express train but one that stops at every station. Departing from trying on one item of female attire once progressing through wearing it regularly, to full lingerie, to outerwear, to wig and makeup, to false breasts, to limited surgery such as breast implants etc all the way to full transition. The idea is to get off the train at every station and spend some time there. Once you reach somewhere you are comfortable, do not get back on the train.

I may be wrong but I get the distinct impression that most of the gurls on Flickr got off with me at the stage where we want to pass as fully as possible without surgery or hormones.

My profile mentions how I went out dressed a lot in my twenties and thirties but then ended up back in the closet for many years, only dressing occasionally at home and then only in lingerie, but now having retired with time on my hands wanting to spend more of that time as Ursula.

So I wanted to get back to where I was before. To go back to the station where I got off the train if you will. With the help of dressing services and the support of people online, especially here and SHQ, I did that.

But then something interesting and unexpected happened. I found that I wanted to get back on the train. Before I was content to dress at support groups, gay venues, TV/TS conferences and fetish events. In other words trans friendly places. Or safe spaces to use the modern jargon. Now I want to take Ursula out into the world at large. Not to shout "look at me, I'm trans" but to blend in unnoticed as far as possible. I've found that it is possible although I know I'll never pass.

Despite that knowledge it is still something I strive towards. So maybe my journey has a few miles still to run.

Beeing drawing shit. this is acoe. the end. I dunno if I'll ever finish it. thINGS ARE HARD.

A lot of progress has been done and the desired lenght has been reached. However there are still a lot of details to add and work on. Any thoughts so far?

"At the same time as the start of the exportation of cattle products and subproducts, and the social progress of the Mestizo, a fusion of ethnic elements was generated, resulting in the origin of new Mestizo musical sounds which reached their peak in the middle of the 18th C.

This great blend of ethnic elements included the adoption of other musical cultures, resulting in the origin of the vaquerías, a festival at which the cattle branding and the counting of the cattle in the haciendas and ranches were celebrated. The women were called “vaqueras,” and they wore the same hats as the men who were called “vaqueros”; therefore the fiesta was called the “vaquería”. After the branding of the cattle, the women saw to their guests, and then they danced to old Maya songs influenced by the music of Spain. The master of ceremonies formed the group into two lines: one of men and the other of women, and upon the signal of his handkerchief the dance was begun. The inhabitants of the hacienda were in party mode, and all other activities came to a halt during the vaquería!

Today, the vaquería consists of three celebrations: it begins with a mass, then a bullfight, and it ends with the dance, during which, with their famous “jaranas”, the Yucatecans display their great ingenuity and joy."
