Progress 'S' LH546 in Buckie. Not sure why the name is half painted out on the bow, perhaps this boat has been sold. Paintwork on the stern looks a bit weary too. Built by Mackay's of Arbroath in 1988 as Emma Kathleen.

Sentinel 0-4-0 'Progress' (works number 10283) brings the first portion of the 6M32 Lindsey to Preston bitumen working across the swingbridge on Preston Docks on May 28th 2020. The train is split in the exchange sidings and tripped down to the Total UK plant on Chain Caul Way.
'Progress' was one of a trio of Sentinel diesel shunters supplied new to what was then Preston Corporation in 1968. The other two being 'Energy' and 'Enterprise'
I figured I might as well do something with this sketch. It was originally supposed to be entered into PUDDLE's contest uh.... in 2011. I kind of didn't have time to finish it.
I have no idea what direction I'm going for. o_o; I need to learn to plan before I start inking. I'm so impatient. >_<;

Not all ships in the Royal fleet are purely military in nature, some are built with a much more 'peaceful' purpose in mind - the furtherance and expansion of scientific knowledge. These ships bear the green and grey of the Ministry of Progress rather than the red of the Ministry of Might; as do their escort ships - many of which are more powerful than their Military-Fleet counterparts, thanks to their special development in the design rooms of their mother Ministry. The endless machinations and political scheming of the various Royal Ministries vieing for power in the Kingdom ensure that during times of peace, the Ministry of Progress jealously guards the secrets housed by their gleaming ships.
Well here we are, eight months in and my first upload of 2011. It has been a crazy year so far for the citizens of Christchurch New Zealand, as I'm sure some of you are aware. Between devastating and deadly earthquakes, a month without basic utilities, and the biggest snowfall and lowest temperatures in more than a decade, my second year at University has been quite an interesting and ever changing experience, with assessments delayed, cancelled, un-cancelled and then delayed again and lectures across two different campuses and in prefab shelters and tents. In the midst of all this I have found the time to build - especially during that month without consistent power - but I have had less time (and less inclination) to attempt the other side of our hobby - the photography. I felt the need to upload something though, and I have been keeping up with other people's builds; but it wouldn't pay to look too closely at this photograph, any zoom-in will immediately expose the poor picture quality and shoddy editing. I have enjoyed building it however, and I do have more things to photograph and upload; including I hope an entry or two for the D&D Player Character Party building challenge going on over at Lego D&D.

My first brand promos in over a year. I was a little nervous, but since they were all my friends it made it a lot easier. I'm so happy to have the color tone like this in these photos. I've been using black and white kodak film for one whole year and switching to color film was a little weird. But now I'm confident on what to use if I want to shoot color again.
Ex-LMSR 'Jubilee' No. 45699 'Galatea' restarts a charter working from a signal check on the last leg of it's journey into Shrewsbury station. The train is West Coast Railway Company's 1Z49 0552 Cleethorpes - Shrewsbury on 5th October 2013 which operated diesel-hauled to Crewe where 'Galatea' then took over for the remainder of the journey, working via Chester and Wrexham General. Many heads hang out of carriage windows to check progress, as the locomotive approaches the complex point work on the approach to the station. this afghan is a study in color, pattern, staying power and patience! using a combo of yarn from my stash and yarn from thrift store adventures, i'm crafting an eclectic and pratical piece of fiber art.
this afghan process began in november 2005. i've worked in huge bursts off and on throughout the last 8 months. my goal is a completed afghan before 2007. will i make it?
Yesterday I started a 'Learn to knit socks' course with two friends from my patchwork class. I have forgotten all I ever knew about knitting with DPN's (which wasn't a lot) so it was a *fun* first lesson.
I struggled big time to begin with and ended up having to rip everything off the needles and start again. But I managed it in the end.....and we have progress! LOL!
My homework for this week is to finish the rib section.

It is an 85-mile walking race that takes in all 17 parish churches on the island, and must be completed in 24 hours or less. Over 1,500 walkers take part each year, many raising money for charities through sponsorship.
The Carousel of Progress is an attraction located at the Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort, currently operating under the name Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress. Created by both Walt Disney and WED Enterprises as the prime feature of the General Electric (GE) Pavilion for the 1964 New York World's Fair, the attraction was moved to Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, remaining there from 1967 until 1973. It was replaced in Disneyland by America Sings in 1974, and reopened in its present home in Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom in 1975.
Steeped in both nostalgia and futurism, the attraction's premise is an exploration of the joys of living through the advent of electricity and other technological advances during the 20th century via a "typical" American family. To keep it up with the times, the attraction has been updated five times (in 1967, 1975, 1981, 1985, and 1993) and has had two different theme songs, both written by the Sherman Brothers (Disney's Academy Award-winning songwriting team).
Various sources say Walt Disney himself proclaimed that the Carousel of Progress was his favorite attraction and that it should never cease operation. This can be somewhat supported by family and friends, who knew of his constant work on the attraction. Of all the attractions he presented at the 1964–1965 New York World's Fair, Disney seemed especially devoted to the Carousel of Progress.
The Carousel of Progress holds the record as the longest-running stage show, with the most performances, in the history of American theater. It is one of the oldest attractions in the whole Walt Disney World Resort. It is also one of the only attractions at Walt Disney World to have been touched by Walt Disney himself.
