This cross stitch pattern is going to take awhile. One stitch at a time . . .

The girl in the foreground has made a lot of progress on her starts over the year our family has been part of The Claremont Cub swim team. A year ago she could barely lean forward into the pool from a sitting position on the deck.. Now she is able to make a dive off the block. She has an extreme phobia and has been able to work past it to do a dive off the blocks.

1929 edition of "The Pilgrim's Progress: From This World to That Which Is to Come" by John Bunyan. This is the Young People's Edition by David C. Cook Publishing Co, Elgin, Illinois.

"They came in sight of the lions, but before they reached them, the boys, who had been walking in advance, suddenly fell back, at which Great-heart said, 'Ho ho! You love to go manfully ahead when there is no danger, but fall back quickly as soon as the lions appear.'"

I woke with a shiver and knew instantly that the wind had turned from the North - a dull sense of dread rose through my iron frame. As the sun broke over the wall I peered far into the light of dawn and my my fear proved well founded, the rains had moved on and with the winds behind them their progress through the night had been good, very good.

They will be here before he's ready.

Easy fix, new lumber sizing is a little different ..as the new material is dimensionally smaller.

My municipality is erecting an 18 story water tower just across the street from my home. Is ruining my backyard sunsets simply the price I pay for progress?

Every year in Decemeber, I make assorted candy and chocolates for friends and family. I snapped this photo of my work in progress. On the right, you can see balls of ganache. On the left, similar balls of ganache that have been dipped in melted chocolate. In the center, you can see a truffle who's coating is still cooling!
