Clearly I've made some progress since my first post, but it seems really slow. I keep searching for more pieces relevant to an area, find a couple, but seem to be trying the same pieces in the same places. Once in a while they go in.
Lambert Shading and Bezier Curve evaluators. My my, I have smart friends. Andrew Bell, one of the newest Barbarians, helped me understand a bit more about vectors and tutored me into creating a basic Lambert shader for the flowfields. They are tuned down a bit for this image, but they are there when I need them. And dear old Ryan Alexander (oddly a friend of Andrew Bell's from an older job) helped me get the bezier evaluator in place. You might notice the curves on this image are very very smooth compared to the previous versions. Ryan gave me some code to allow for bezier interpolation with my original set of points. It runs a good deal slower, but makes for better large scale images for print.

This was supposed to be my next item off the needles. But I failed. I was too busy playing around online and checking out everyone else's knits. boo!
Oh well.

During my walk along the by-pass road at night, I saw a group of women all dressed in red .I could make out that they were Hindu pilgrims on their way to some favourite temple of Goddess Parasakthi. (Fridays in this Tamil month of Aadi are very auspicious for temple-visits.)
Some were sitting down and resting under a tree in the dark.. A few stood near them.
I shot their picture and only when I uploaded it in my computer I could see that two of them had thoughfully unfolded and presented to view their placards (when I was setting the flash of my camera).
These women had made the placards out of yesteryears' calender- base and decorated them with neem leaves and flowers which are offered to Goddess Parasakthi with religious fervour.
I chose the title from John Bunyan's allegorical treatise, "The Pilgrim's Progress".
As you can see I am not too much further than my last progress shot of this devil puzzle,
Either I have not figured out how to assemble a puzzle in a timely manner, or I am not cut out to be a puzzler.
In comments I posted my last update. As you can see not too much progress.
In all fairness I don't sit down and spends hours working on it. But sometimes I sit here about an hour and only find 4 or 5 pieces. Grrrrrrrrr.
And this is only a 750 pc puzzle. Can't imagine these people on here that do 5000 pc puzzles in a few days.
trying to take some advice from holycow.
i don't know that im feeling the idea of putting trash folder icons etc. but totally agree it needs to communicate more.
what you all think?
Historic Possum Kingdom Bridge on Texas Hwy 16 over the Brazos River near the town of Graford in Palo Pinto County, Texas. The bridge is 433 ft long (the longest masonry arch bridge in Texas) and consists of 18 stone arches varying in length from 23 ft to 30 ft. It was constructed between 1940 and 1942 as part of a 27.75 mile long New Deal Works Progress Administration (WPA) road construction project.
The heavy masonry design was used to withstand flood waters released from the Morris Sheppard Dam a mile upstream. The Morris Shepard Dam was completed in 1941 as a WPA project and impounds Possum Kingdom Lake.
An 8.4 mile section of the 27.75 mile long WPA roadway project was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015 (NRHP No. 15000153 as the State Highway 16, Brazos River Bridge Segment).

The pedestrian bridge & new southside platform of the Sounder Commuter Train station in Mukilteo is coming along well.
Sculpt progress on the Xenomorph - ALIEN: Covenant - 1:18 scale. Had time to work on the Xenomorph head sculpt a bit - close to completion, at least this phase. The next step will be to sculpt the jaw separately (you'll see the frame for the jaw I'm sculpting in a couple images posted). I also will begin building a buck for forming the clear dome that -hopefully- will snap on and off the finished head sculpt when complete. I was successful with the 79 beast so fingers crossed it will happen again. I finished the head of the cat after redoing it on a different hook size. I started with a C hook and decided to use an F hook instead. I'm 1/2 way done with the body.
