"They came in sight of the lions, but before they reached them, the boys, who had been walking in advance, suddenly fell back, at which Great-heart said, 'Ho ho! You love to go manfully ahead when there is no danger, but fall back quickly as soon as the lions appear.'"

one more level to go and then shingles!!

This cross stitch pattern is going to take awhile. One stitch at a time . . .

Progress on paving the tracks on my HO Scale Philadelphia Belt Line Layout.

The girl in the foreground has made a lot of progress on her starts over the year our family has been part of The Claremont Cub swim team. A year ago she could barely lean forward into the pool from a sitting position on the deck.. Now she is able to make a dive off the block. She has an extreme phobia and has been able to work past it to do a dive off the blocks.

Work progresses at Paraparaumu in Ruahine St. on the conversion of Johnsonville Line English Electric unit DM510 / D2489 to a restaurant .

The owner is having a small accommodation block built, and yet to be erected, a toilet block between it and the carriages. A thief was on site morning of January 16th when the builder arrived. He was discovered underneath one of the carriages trying to remove parts and ran off leaving his bag of tools behind.

There have also been graffiti attacks since the placing on site at the end of November 2014 but this has been removed.

The joys of trying to open a business!

I think the next step is definitely to hang the room divider curtain sheers. Not sure when I'm going to have time to get that done, but hopefully I can do it during the week.

I love tracking the progress of this amazing building. It changes every time I go to see it, and there is always a new obstacle to go around to try and get to it. This time there was intense security around the site so this is as close as I could get. For anyone new, this is the Coogee Power Station.

Quite a bit has changed since the last one of these I posted, but that's mostly due to my having forgotten to post one for the last 4 months, not because I've been working like crazy on the plane. The right fuel tank is now all done except for the aft baffle and there's a bit more green on the left aileron as well.

Parts shown here in green are complete, yellow are awaiting some final riveting or blending tasks, orange are awaiting primer, and red are works in progress. Uncolored parts haven't yet been worked on.

For more narrative on the project, check out the construction blog.

some parts still missing, build as far as I could with the parts I had

scene from the "Carousel of Progress" in Tomorrowland.

One of the big events of our Saturday was a "Try Skate" event at our local ice rink for kids and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. My son (who has Trisomy 21 aka Down syndrome) hasn't skated much, so he's a little unsure of balance on skates (heck, I would be too!). Just as at a simlar event 2 years ago he just wanted to have one of the assistants push him around on a chair (it's great fun!). But they have these cool frame things to allow them to have some support. I finally got him to get up for a longer period by bribing (positive consequence!) him with pizza for lunch after! In this picture his assistant isn't even holding onto the frame. Progress!

(FWIW, in addition to cello he actually does quite well with a lot of physical activities: basketball [can shoot really well, including 3 pointers!], running and track and field in general, swimming, softball, other sports, and he rode a bicycle without training wheels *before* he turned 8, which is unheard of for kids with DS! ... but he is hesitant on uneven surfaces, and in skating, he's as reluctant and as likely to fall as any of us who haven't skated. Maybe a bit more because balance in that is SO important and the skates make things so much more awkward.)
