Progress on the Ptera arrow for my custom SHF Pteraranger. Now, it is no longer just a flat piece of plastic with a sticker on it.
So, a funny story goes along with this picture, as they often do. Mike was having a great time getting a few more rides in on Space Mountain, while I decided to wander around Tomorrowland and see what I could capture. I was having a good time with my ultra-wide, and then I remembered this fantastic time. So, I made the mistake of framing in my viewfinder, and at 8mm, well, I wanted the sign to really pop and fill the entire frame. So I start walking closer and closer to the sign, filling the frame up with colorful gears. And that's about the time I trip over the curb right in front of the sign. Luckily, I caught myself and avoided an embarrassing (and potentially expensive) spill, but I learned my lesson. If I ever decide to recompose while staring down my viewfinder, I take a few seconds to see what my surroundings entail; tripping once was more than enough for me!

progress, as i suspected, is pretty slow-going on my great gram-inspired quilt, though it looks like i have a lot done! i now have 8 out of 36 blocks finished + i couldn't be happier with how they are looking. of course, my version is going to be a lot more colorful than the original, but a lot of that has to do with fading, i think. i'm piecing the larger blocks as i have enough of the smaller postage stamp blocks made, rather than waiting to make all of the postage stamp blocks + then organizing them by color--i'm trying to keep things sort of random, because that's how quilts in my great grandma's time were made.
