Photo taken this morning of the puzzle on the kitchen table. I am working on 2 large, hard boards and guess I'm down to the last 800 pieces by now. They are all very dark, so good light is mandatory from now on.

My toy room is already painted!!! I choose a soft color (periwinkle) and now I am in the process of putting up the bookcases!!!! wish I had someone to help....

Wally Mouse is coming along nicely! Progress so far - I've conditioned the clay (I'm using Fimo Classic champagne for the body, which takes a bit of work to make it soft enough to work with), and then made the basic Wally Mouse body from one piece of clay, shaping the legs and nose along the way. The body needs to be thin enough so that he doesn't look fat when I start dressing him up in his clothes. I've also made his glasses (love these!), his shoes, and his ears and tail, all of which I'll assemble once I've got him dressed :) Next up, the clothes!

When printmaking in this style I spend a tremendous amount of time making sure the drawng is perfect. After transferring the design, I go back in and touch it up. When you start carving you want to be able to trust your drawing because at that point there is no eraser.

Cat-Mai - Mai with the Catwa Magy head - is well on her way to becoming a character your Mai could live with as an avatar (because, though you found her beautiful sweetie, your wife couldn't make a 'habit' of the embryonic Cat-Mai as she looks in those 'Dancing Zen' pictures).

Here Cat-Mai is born again with some modified facial proportions, most noticeably her mouth and lips, which are now literally Golden (ie. PHI = 1:1.618 = 62% on the SL Lip Ratio slider), a move that does give her face a je ne sais quoi in your Mai's eyes and renders her attractive enough now to 'live with' more than just now and then. If you like her, love, I can 'be' Cat-Mai more often.

Cat-Mai is showing off the Analexa small-breasted body, with a slimmer shape than even Slink-Mai used to wear. And she's been given a new LAQ skin (Natasha) which sets off her nose and mouth a bit more than the Camille skin Slink-Mai and MaiChai wear.

Hope you like her and these pics which really got me going on the Black & White and F-S conversions! For some reason they do this particular face more justice than plain colour does - whether that's a good sign I'm not quite sure. ♥X

message series entitled progress.

i just know it has to do with following the steps of Jesus.

my pastor mentioned the idea of a sky scraper in the process of being built. but i kinda thought that has been overdone. so i went with this. also thinking of doing like a loading screen, or progress bar you would see on a video game loading screen or start up on a mac.

edit* i dont know if this is what im going to use hence the istock photo not having yet been purchased but if i use it i will buy it dont worry:)

Productivity

Today is No More Excuses Day. It's time to drop whatever excuses you've been using to put off productivity - too tired, too busy, too stressed - and simply get to work. No more excuses. No more reasons why you can't do what you really want to do. The only thing standing in your way is you. Break through your own excuses and you'll find what you want deep down: progress.

Beth is much better at progress than I am.

A third of the way done! I have decided to leave the stones whole and not cut the centers out.

Progress of the eclipse. The first six pictures are spaced roughly ten minutes apart. The last six cover a total period of about 7 minutes. The penultimate one shows the moment of annularity, and the last one is (fairly) close to center.

Progress has been moving quickly, especially since this represents only 2 days' worth of puzzling. I had no time even to think about the puzzle during the week, but yesterday and this morning were devoted to it. I love working on puzzles in the morning light - it's so much easier on the eyes and my progress seems to go much faster. (My mind is probably sharper then, too.) No artificial light source can compare.

I also enjoy listening to music while I work on a puzzle. I used to buy a lot of CDs and LPs, but in this day and age web radio and podcasts are the way to go. One of my favorite online radio shows at the moment is "Gilles Peterson Worldwide," a 3-hour weekly program on BBC Radio 6. It plays from 3 - 6 p.m. on Saturdays (you can also stream it after the fact) and I had the pleasure of listening in live yesterday morning. The music is always fresh and stimulating.
