The Armed Services blood Program hosted a 60th Anniversary and National Blood Donor Month Celebration Jan. 25 at the Defense Health Headquarters in Falls Church, Va. Dr. David Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Force Health Protection and Readiness, was the keynote speaker. Army Col. This morning, a group of Lindenwood University students gave their first tour of Ideal (Dis-) Placements: Old Masters at the Pulitzer, in French. This is the fourth year that Lindenwood French students have used the Pulitzer as a way to practice their second language. The students are first given a tour in English, then French, and then they themselves give tours to high school French-learners.
Juba, 27 January 2025: The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has launched a “Community Conversations Radio Program.” This initiative creates a platform for meaningful discussions on political issues, peacebuilding, and governance. It seeks to engage youth and the broader community, encouraging active involvement in the constitution-making process, peace initiatives, and elections. The goal is to empower citizens to exercise their democratic rights while promoting mutual understanding and social cohesion among diverse groups.

Last week’s after school program focused on learning about the skeletal system; including our muscles and bones. Activities for this lesson included viewing Dinosaur Train: Journey to Fossil Alley, Sid the Science Kid: Bones Investigation, reading of a book entitled “How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You”, and completing a science learning craft of creating an x-ray of their hands. Students also enjoyed a science trivia game that included fun facts about the skeletal system. This project is funded by a Ready To Learn grant provided by the Department of Education to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
