京剧《霸王别姬》选段:此剧源出战国时代楚汉相争的故事。西楚霸王项羽被困垓下,项羽知大势已去,抚骓长叹;虞姬拔剑作舞。时汉军攻急,虞姬恐误其行,持剑自刎,以绝项羽恋念。项羽遂领兵出阵,战败,自刎乌江。楚终为汉所灭。
京剧《穆桂英挂帅-捧印》选段:《穆桂英挂帅-捧印》一折,讲述的是藩王作乱,宋王下旨比武选帅,年过半百的穆桂英在其太婆母佘太君的说服下,以民族大义为重,决定挂帅出征的故事。
Peking Opera excerpt from Farewell, My Concubine;It’s a heart wrenching story of love and self-sacrificein the Warring States period in ancient China. Lady Yu plays the sword to try to cheer up King Xiang Yu. When the enemy attacks again, Xiang bids farewell to Yu Ji who refuses to leave with him. Yu dances the sword dance before putting the sword to her own
throat.
Peking Opera excerpt from Mu Guiying Takes Command-Accepting the Seal. Mu Guiying is a famous female general and the granddaughter-in-law of the prominent Generals of the Yang family in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960– 1127). When Western Xia invades, the emperor orders a martial arts competition to select a Chief Commander. Mu Guiying, who is now retired and in her fifties, refuses to accept the seal at first. But later persuaded by the Dowager She, she decides to accept the post to defend the country.

Ngô Thanh Nhàn, Ph.D. Linguistics, is a fellow in Vietnamese Nôm and Folk Music Studies of the Center for Vietnamese Philosophy, Culture & Society of Temple University. Dr. Nhàn is a coordinator of the Vietnam Agent Orange Relief & Responsibility Campaign. He currently teaches đàn tranh[Vietnamese 16-string zither] at the Folk Arts–Cultural Treasures Charter School with the support of Asian Americans United. Dr. Nhàn also organizes regular hybrid đàn tranh intensive classes under Manhattan Academy of Music and Language, Inc. in New York
hosted by Mekong NYC. Dr. Nhàn will perform with Fiona Zhao.

KyoDaiko offers regular taiko classes and can be hired for events, workshops and team-building activities.

The Philadelphia Suns have performed traditional Chinese Lion Dance since our inception in 1972. This 1000-year-old cultural dance has been passed through the generations as part of martial arts training. Traditionally performed at festive occasions like grand openings, weddings, parties and other special events, a lion dance is performed to scare away evil spirits. Today, lion dances have taken on the form of a celebratory dance where acrobatic movements are performed to the rhythmic music of drum, gong, and cymbal. Our team is composed of volunteers and all funds donated go towards our programs.

Música, sortilegio, danza y teatro fueron los elementos que utilizó el comité organizador para dar inicio con el programa donde se conmemoró el día Internacional del síndrome de Down, actividad que fue liderada por el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado (GAD) Municipal de Chone, conjuntamente con los ministerios de Inclusión, Económica y Social, Educación, Salud e Interior, así como también la escuela de enseñanza especial Juntos Venceremos, ONG Mujeres Humanitarias de España y la fundación Cruz Varela Burbano, vale señalar que la fecha se recuerda tras ser decretado por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas ONU en el 2011 como el día Internacional del síndrome de Down.
La plaza Sucre fue el escenario donde se efectuó una casa abierta con la presencia de varios stands en la que participaron instituciones públicas de Chone, con vestimenta amarilla y el lanzamiento de globos del mismo color, familiares y personas que poseen síndrome de Down, recordaron esta fecha especial.
Autoridades y representantes de instituciones del cantón estuvieron presentes, el alcalde de Chone Deyton Alcívar brindó un mensaje a todos los presentes, hizo alusión a que el síndrome de Down no es una enfermedad si no una condición de vida y que es obligación de todos y todas conmemorar esta fecha de manera positiva ya que las personas al igual que las aves son diferentes en sus vuelos, pero iguales en sus derechos, por lo que invitó a todos los presentes a integrar a las personas con síndrome de Down para que participen de igual forma en todas las actividades frente a la sociedad.
Tania Manzaba y Gema Cedeño, personas que poseen el síndrome de Down, intervinieron con mensajes positivos y motivados a rescatar la igualdad de derechos.

Every day, humans face many kinds of challenging energy choices. With the help of Dr. Kilowatt, students learn about creating energy with both renewable and non-renewable resources. Students will test the power of wind and learn about energy conservation, as well as work to complete a circuit. Students also get to participate in demonstrations and see how saving energy can save the planet.
