ANNAPOLIS, Md. (May 1, 2022) U. S. Naval Academy holds the annual Trident Scholar reception at Alumni Hall. The Trident Scholar Program, instituted in 1963, provides an exciting opportunity to the midshipmen in the top 15 percent of their class at the end of the first semester of their junior year in extended independent study and research throughout their senior year. As the undergraduate college of our country's naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Spider-Man (llamado Hombre Araña en muchas de las traducciones al español) es un superhéroe ficticio creado por los escritores y editores Stan Lee y Steve Ditko. The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.
hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.

We joined Barberton High School Monday, May 19th, to honor seniors in the Class of 2014 who achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on an unweighted scale.
The Foundation was present to honor 65 of those students with scholarships, totaling more that $100,000, most of which is renewable for 3 additional years.

Monday, August 15, 2016 -- Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Education Commissioner Dianna Wentzell today announced that the Connecticut Summer Meals Program reached an important milestone. Connecticut now has over 700 locations across the state serving free, nutritious meals to children during the summer. The 714 sites serving Connecticut children represents a 33 percent increase from 2011, when the state had 536 sites.
When there's programing to be done it has to be done hunched over a desk in a very dark room late at night.

University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto joined the president of the UK Student Development Council, Jonathon Nunley, Kentucky Historical Society Marker Program Coordinator Becky Riddle and others April 15 in dedicating the latest addition to the Live Blue Legacy historical marker program. The marker is made possible through donations from members of the Class of 2012.
This historical highway marker, the 19th in a series, pays tribute to UK student traditions dating back more than 100 years.
An early rivalry between freshman and sophomore classes on the UK campuses was the annual 'Flag Rush' competition where one class would defend their flag from being captured by a rush of competitors.
Replacing the flag rush in 1913 was the 'Tug of War' across Clifton Pond. Students were granted a half-holiday for the annual drenching, and crowds could reach more than 2,000 for the event.
The dedication ceremony and unveiling of the marker took place at a site located near the William T. Young Library on the UK campus. A reception followed.
Since 1994, the Live Blue Legacy Program has supported the placement of Kentucky Historical Society Highway Markers across the UK campus. The Live Blue Legacy Program is administered by the Student Development Council, whose members solicit gifts from members of the graduating class, in this case the Class of 2012. These funds are used to purchase, install and dedicate a marker in the name of that particular class.
I was inspired by the logo for the Milwaukee Bicycle Co. to create a new logo for the Bike Program.
It's not official or anything. I was just having fun playing around in Illustrator (and AutoCAD for the technical elements).
Of course, for those not familiar with the city, it's heavily based on the municipal flag of Chicago.
