While I'm not a fan of hotels with women names I like them better than those containing traditional words - Park, City, Square and likes.
This were one of few shots from Rollei Prego 30 with film I unloaded from Minox 35 midroll after I discovered my repair attempt isn't too successful and shutter isn't closing (but I still got some pictures before problem returned). My Prego 30 overexposes - I learned this from previous rolls so I modified DX code of Paradies 100 (Kodak Gold?) film to ISO200 and think this is the way to use it.

On January 30, 2019, City of Laredo Municipal Court Judge Jesus M. Dominguez announced the First Amnesty Program allowing citizens to clear their outstanding warrant and traffic violations. Judge Dominguez is offering the amnesty program from February 19, 2019 through March 8, 2019. This includes all cases pending, capias warrants, arrest warrants, capias pro-fines, and DPS Omni warrants.
Municipal Court clerks are available to help the public with any information they may need. Individuals that would like to know the total amount of fines due before the amnesty program begins may visit the court, located at 4610 Maher Avenue. Individuals with outstanding warrants that appear for court will not be arrested. In order to qualify for this program and possibly be cleared of the outstanding debt, individuals must be prepared to pay at least half of the amount of their outstanding fine. However, final determination of the amount to be paid is on a case-by-case basis as decided by Judge Dominguez.
It is very important that the public take advantage of the amnesty program. Municipal Court does have a warrant division that issues and executes warrants on a daily basis; therefore, it is always best that individuals visit the court and take care of their outstanding cases.
Reminder to all, Municipal Court holds court sessions twice a day, morning and afternoon. Individuals that would like to take care of their outstanding cases may appear for court between 8am - 9am for the morning session, or between 12pm – 1pm for the afternoon session.

Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez (born January 29, 1942) is a Cuban military officer, legislator, and former cosmonaut and the first person of African heritage in space.[1][2] As a member of the crew of Soyuz 38, he became the first Cuban citizen and the first person from a country in the Western Hemisphere other than the United States to travel into Earth orbit.

Early life and military service
Tamayo was born in Baracoa, Guantánamo province, into a humble family of Afro-Cuban descent. Orphaned as an infant, he was adopted at age 1 by Rafael Tamaya and Esperanza Méndez. He began working at age 13 as a shoeshine and vegetable vendor and later worked as a carpenter's assistant.[3][4]
He was born on January 29, 1942, in Cuba. During the Cuban Revolution he joined the Association of Young Rebels, a group protesting the Batista regime, and later the Revolutionary Work Youth Brigades.[4] After the Cuban revolution he entered the Technical Institute "Rebel Army" completing a course for aviation technicians in December 1960. Wishing to become a fighter pilot, he went on to join the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces. Between April 1961 and May 1962 Tamayo completed a course in aerial combat at the Yeisk Higher Air Force School with MiG-15s in Soviet Union, after which he was certified a combat pilot at the age of 19.[4] Later that year, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, he flew 20 reconnaissance missions in defense of Cuba as part of the Playa Girón Brigade of the Cuban Revolutionary Guard.[5]
In 1967, Tamayo officially joined the Communist Party of Cuba and spent the next two years serving with Cuban forces in the Vietnam War, returning in 1969 to study at the Maximo Gomez Basic College of the Revolutionary Armed Forces until 1971.
In 1975, he was made Chief of Staff of the Santa Clara Aviation Brigade and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel the following year. In 1978 he was selected to join the Intercosmos program and moved to the Star City in Russia for his training as a cosmonaut.

Tamayo was selected as part of the Soviet Union's seventh Intercosmos program on March 1, 1978. His backup in the Intercosmos program was fellow Cuban José López Falcón. Tamayo would spend the next two and half years in training for the mission.[4]
Tamayo, along with Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Romanenko, was launched into space aboard Soyuz 38 from Baikonur Cosmodrome on September 18, 1980, at 19:11 UTC. After docking with Salyut 6, Tamayo and Romanenko conducted experiments in an attempt to find what caused space adaptation syndrome (SAS), and perhaps even find a cure, and on the crystallisation of sucrose in microgravity, for the benefit of Cuba's sugar industry. The SAS experiment involved wearing special adjustable shoes for six hours every day that placed a load on the arch of the foot. After 124 orbits of the Earth (lasting 7 days, 20 hours and 43 minutes), Tamayo and Romanenko landed 180 km (110 mi) from Dzhezkazgan. The landing was risky, as it was during the night.[1][6][7][8]
Upon his return to Earth he was decorated with the Hero of the Republic of Cuba medal, the first person to be so honored. In Moscow he received the Order of Lenin and was also named Hero of the Soviet Union.

Following his time in the Intercosmos program, Tamayo was made Director of the Military Patriotic Educational Society known as Sociedad de Educación Patriótico-Militar "SEPMI".[5] After his promotion to brigadier general, he became Director of International Affairs in the Cuban armed forces.
Since 1980, he has been a Deputy in the Cuban National Assembly, representing his home region of Guantánamo Province.[9]
He has been honored by the Cuban Government for being the first Cuban, the first Caribbean, and the first Latin American to go into orbit. He was awarded the titles of Hero of the Republic of Cuba and the Order of Playa Girón.[9] He also is a recipient of the Hero of the Soviet Union award.
Tamayo is married and has two daughters and a son.
His space suit is preserved at the Museum of the Revolution in Havana.
so i finally got my first roll if film back from jasmine & my little frolic, and oh. my. goodness. it's quite possible that i love, love, love almost every single image, and i still have another roll that i have yet to see! i can't believe how gorgeous almost every image is, and that is a big deal to me, seeing as i went from possibly a 20-25% of images i love per roll, to a 75% of images i love per roll.
there is just something about film that feels way more tangible than digital. each image feels more precious. & the medium certainly loves jasmine's gorgeous face. ;)
(not to mention that i didn't have to do ANY computer work! no staring at my computer screen for hours on end to get this *look*! hallelujah!)
oh, you bet more are coming.
p.s. doesn't her expression just get you?

Young people learn life skills through DARE program
By Rick Scavetta, U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern
LANDSTUHL, Germany – Juggling red balloons symbolized life’s many challenges during graduation for a Drug Abuse Resistance Education program held recently at Wilson Barracks.
Fifth graders were helping Lt. Col. Lars Zetterstrom, commander of U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern, juggle several red balloons. A blue balloon was tossed in, representing drugs and alcohol, to show the difficulty of keeping life’s balloons aloft with an added impairment.
Spontaneously, Zetterstrom tapped the blue balloon to the floor and popped it with his desert-colored combat boot.
“I saw that it represented something bad,” Zetterstrom said. “Stomping it out was the right thing to do.”
Lessons like that are what the DARE program is about. Since 1983, DARE has taught millions of students worldwide about the effects of alcohol and drugs. Each April, "National DARE Day" is commemorated in the United States by a presidential proclamation, community events and activities.
In Kaiserslautern Military Community's fours elementary schools, students complete 10 lessons over several weeks, working from DARE planners.
Weekly lessons often include acting out skits on peer pressure and watching videos about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
Landstuhl’s graduating class was the first for Army Sgt. Raymond Engstrom, 29, of Cottage Grove, Minn., a garrison military police officer. The thought of facing children in classrooms each week was daunting at first. Yet, Engstrom knew the importance of DARE discussions and began enjoying the classes.
“You learn to have fun with it,” Engstrom said. “They’re just young people. I always refrain from calling them kids or students. I’d say “people about your age.”
Over the past few months, Engstrom has developed significantly, said his supervisor, Sgt. 1st Class Adrian Rouse, the provost marshal operations sergeant.
“He’s ran with it,” Rouse said. “Now he’s very interactive with the kids, parents and school staff. And I think he enjoys it significantly.”
During the graduation, held at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center’s Heaton Auditorium, Zetterstrom said he was proud to see Army noncommissioned offer leading the DARE program
“We’re American living overseas. We want our children to have the best education possible,” Zetterstrom said. “Learning is not always about academics, it’s about life skills and that’s what DARE does.”
