On December 9, 2016, the Arboretum and Public Garden had the opportunity to welcome a group of students from a journalism program in Visalia CA. The aspiring young journalists had the opportunity to interview our Museum Education & Interpretive Manager- Maya Makker, GATEways Outreach Students- Vivian Le and Rachel Le and our Outreach and Leadership Program Coordinator- Melissa Cruz.

We didn't know we would be going to the exhibit that day so all we had were cell phone cameras.
I'm posting these as a costumer and prop maker, so you'll see a lot of close ups of seams and other details. Hopefully they will serve as a good reference for others.

The Open House hosted by the MSU Detroit Center was an opportunity for middle & high school students to begin preparing for their future!
There were presentations and information on:
oCreating successful pre-college program applications
oWhat’s so great about residential campus programs?
oFinding funds for program costs
Featured programs included:
•DAPCEP
•Ingenuity College Preparatory Institute
•MSU Agriculture and Natural Resources
•MSU College of Education
•MSU College of Engineering
•MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine
•MSU Extension - 4H Clubs
•MSU GATE (Gifted & Talented Education)
Models of various US and Soviet space rockets: Saturn V, Saturn I, Saturn IB, and Soyuz. All these models are 1/96 scale.
This exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum is titled "Apollo: When We Went to the Moon", but it includes the historical background of the space program (starting with the Cold War) and also contains items from the Soviet space program.
