Light is very important, and so is time. Every time I get a chance to go out and shoot the light is rarely on my side. This is one of those times, enter Adobe Lightroom.
Tower B-17 Elmhurst, where there are new obnoxious loudspeakers that simulate air horn sounds, in place of the traditional bells or crossing sounders. I think the searchlights' days are numbered.
This is actually two tutorials in one. Learn how to mute the colors of an image, yet retain a pleasing effect. Next learn to cross process the image. The tutorial is here:

I have replaced the image with a brighter one. The first image looked ok on my screen but was way too dark on all other screens...
in the process of making this coat. this is a 'pinned' trial run to learn how to make it, using a cotton/polyester sheet bought from a local charity shop £3. i downloaded the pattern. however when i started to make it yesterday i had no instructions. i was sure i had read them when i first downloaded the pattern but i searched and nothing :(
i worked on it yesterday, took it apart this morning, had another go and this is as far as i've got ...
my mantra is 'front to front', but i've ended up with a 'back' facing section at the front!
i'll take it apart again tonight, with each attempt something falls into place but this coat could take some time !
irst attempt flic.kr/p/2p5pjSx couldn't find the instructions
second attempt flic.kr/p/2p5Lj5m a very bad day! no idea :(
third attempt flic.kr/p/2p5UQ9W an improvement
fourth and final attempt flic.kr/p/2pfCoFU assembled and machined
the coat flic.kr/p/2pgnJRW
i've yet to buy the fabric for the finished coat. i'll be making sure it doesn't have a pattern and an added bonus would be if front and back of the fabric were the same:)
UPDATE!
i've just found the pattern instructions www.sewmag.co.uk/free-sewing-patterns/serena-wool-coat#lo...

Three shades of change spotted in a field in the English countryside.
Myosotis (from the Greek: "mouse's ear") is a genus of flowering plants in the family Boraginaceae that are commonly called Forget-me-nots. Its common name was calqued from the French, "ne m'oubliez pas" and first used in English in c.1532.
There are approximately fifty species in the genus, with much variation. A considerable number of the species have small (1 cm diameter or less) rather flat, 5-petalled blue flowers growing profusely on straggly stems, flowering in spring. Color variation is somewhat frequent within species, and white or pink forms are common. They are popular in gardens, and cultivated forms often show a mixture of colours. Forget-me-nots prefer shade.
