Man, am I a dork. I set up a web-cam to watch my fish, them wrote a program that places them in a 3D space and generates compositions resulting from their movement & colours. These are some of the early results...

Here are some process photos of the new multi-touch table we're building with the help of the very talented Brendan Budge!

This is a much more polished version of our first table.

Someone once asked me how a project on my work table unfolds, and I just happened to have this latest sewing task laying on my notebook, which I thought was a good photo op. Most projects start with a simple idea or need, in this case coasters for hubby and me, and then I put it down on paper. Some of the time, I have a design plan in mind that inspires fabric choice, but most of the time, for me, it's the fabric that leads to a pattern. However, even if it is the fabric that inspires, sometimes it's what's available that dictates the design. Like with this one... I had planned to use lots of tiny Heather Ross scraps, but I only had slightly bigger ones available, so modification time! I also had planned to embroider the his and hers, but I just couldn't find a stitch that I liked (and I practiced a lot), so yet again, another plan had to be made. Thank goodness for rubber stamps and good ink! I think as long as you can adapt to the situation, while enjoying the process, it really doesn't matter which comes first, the chicken or the egg. Er, the design or the fabric...

So... what's your process?

Seems like the road is 'calling' frequently these days...The oranges are on their way for processing - a frequent sight this time of year. There is an artificial citrus scent when following the transport - one pro to getting stuck behind one on a two lane road! :) Moore Haven, FL

The bottom image is a photo I took and then processed using "FotoSketcher" (a free app that applies art effects to a photo). The top is an acrylic painting a friend did from that image...

I thought I'd get a little bit of practice in, with my lighting equipment, which is extremely basic, just daylight bulb continuous lighting. I tried moving the light around to see what differences it would create. I then processed them, to see the different effects I had created.

The light in this was to the right of the camera, almost next to it. I then cross processed the shot in photoshop, which give richer, warmer hues in this image.
