On Sunday 14th of October, Pablo and I celebrated our 6 month anniversary together. It has been an incredible relationship, it feels like we've been together for years!. We both have similar characters, we study the same thing, we like similar things and most importantly we love and care for each other a lot. It was time to get each other presents so i decided to add something more personal, I decided to draw myself and him on a card along with a typography book he had wanted for a while.

The way I work is using "apophenia". That´s a term used by psychologists to describe the mind´s will to construct meaning, order and forms even from chaotic structures - just like seeing faces in the clouds.
At first paper is prepared with random coffee, tea and juice drippings. The "found" motifs are extracted and details are worked out using colored ink. You can even take "control" by searching for certain sujets.
This is an example of how it can work in a graphical context, using the analogue work retouched digitally.
The illustration is finally implemented in a layout.
Hope You enjoy the insight into the work process! :)
I've had some time to practice with Photoshop after breaking my ankle. This was a standard colour photo of a shop in the Lanes, Brighton. I hoped to accent the already ample character.

One of several tutorials on my blog, showing you how to quickly (30 seconds) add canvas to your photo and fill it with original picture information so it looks natural, rather than messing about with the clone stamp tool.
These are some shots i took with an interfit lighting kit.
Main Light: Softbox high camera right
Fill Light: Umbrella low front left just outside the frame.
I'm not too sure i like the processing so i am looking for your comments on it. Thanks in advance!

This print is for a doll quilt swap I am in (i hope she likes pink!). It was made using the contact paper method of screen printing(there are 3 layers) on top of a vintage print my aunt gave me and uses fabric ink to make sure that is is washable.
