11 year old roof needs the west side replaced. An attempted at repair was made in the past that was unsuccessful. The temporary solution is to cover the section with a waterproof membrane that will last 4 to 5 months.

The biggest problem setting up this shot was getting down to the edge of this woodland stream without crushing the wildflowers underfoot. I try to wear light footwear in places like this, and walk very slowly, watching where I step, being careful where I place tripod legs, and so on. And I try to do it when no one is around, lest I give somebody wrong ideas - that it's okay to do this. Chances are they won't be walking as softly as I do.
As for the photo itself... it isn't quite what I envisioned, because I simply could not have gotten into an ideal position without causing real damage to the delicate foliage. But it's close. Sometimes you have to settle for close.

I recently bought a htc desire s and noticed a problem with the display. It seems that the gorilla glass display was not cut right and space was left between the display and the unibody. Also i have found 6 or more dead/stuck pixels. The problem is on the top and right side. Bottom and left side seem ok. Dust gets inside the device as well as a lot of moisture from holding the phone next to my cheek when i make calls. Good thing it has a gorilla glass display and unibody.
… OK, it’s probably not a problem estate. But it looks like it could be. Perched on the edge of a large town, designed in the late sixties by well-meaning bearded architects, these houses seem to be reaching EOL (end of life). I doubt that the green spaces offer much comfort. Phil and Kirsty are nowhere to be seen. The bus services have been cut back. Like an open prison with no fence … the lingering spirit of archigram-like optimism now entirely crushed by the realities of human habitation and the insidious decay of the ‘natural’ materials …
I should just not drive a car. So I had one, at one point, but best for me and everyone else is if I stay on the bike.

I was asked to do some portraits at work yesterday. I've known this gent for a few years now...very nice fellow, great face (I think.) Just played with some cropping and tinting here.

Their gig previous to this was Glastonbury. This time they were on the tiny Radio Ulster (Bandstand) stage at Stendhal.
They describe themselves as "four-piece feminist queer punk band from Belfast". Great fun, energy and they sound great too and are great at banter with the crowd. I was looking forward to them at Stendhal and they didnt dissapoint! I love them!

. . . only to remember why I put that specific clock in that specific spot when I bought the house five years ago. It was covering an actual outlet high up on the wall (the kind built into 1930s-era houses to power pre-battery clocks). There was some swearing involved because it messes up the "clean" wall. I first considered removing the outlet and patching over it, but that would involve repainting the wall, which I didn't want to do. Then I considered finding some small decorative items to cover it. Then I hit on the idea to take the lemons and make lemonade . . .

We saw cut and removed a few sections of concrete. When the home was built, the concrete was not sloped properly. The rain water flows right to the home. Once the concrete was removed, we removed the dirt to 8 inches in depth. We installed white rock in these areas. This will help to allow water to perk into the ground and not run through the garage and house.
