Their gig previous to this was Glastonbury. This time they were on the tiny Radio Ulster (Bandstand) stage at Stendhal.
They describe themselves as "four-piece feminist queer punk band from Belfast". Great fun, energy and they sound great too and are great at banter with the crowd. I was looking forward to them at Stendhal and they didnt dissapoint! I love them!

I worked out the problem I was having with cast-on! I wasn't using the ravel cord and weights to seperate the yarn on (moving) needles with the static bed teeth. thanks to everyone on the ravelry machknit introductions thread for the pointers! and I also tried one of the punch card patterns #12 - it missed a couple of stitches when it got caught up but overall it worked well. this is 49 stitches of the pattern + some flat knitting to start with. the 49 stitches take about 2 seconds per row. so fast!

Questa di Alvin è davvero un’adozione del cuore. Unmicio adulto, grande,
che un tempo era sicuramente bellissimo. Ma quel tempo ora è passato.
Alvin è sempre stato un gatto di nessuno, si arrangiava come poteva per
strada, finchè qualcuno vistolo ormai anziano emalmesso l’ha raccolto e
portato da noi. Alvin ha problemi renali, deve mangiare cibo dietetico
per i reni, ed è risultato positivo alla fiv ed alla felv. Non sappiamo
quanto ancora avrà da vivere, forse non moltissimo, ma lui per adesso
mangia, e cerca le coccole.
E’ un gatto buonissimo Alvin , una patata rossa a cui la vita non ha mai
dato nulla e che adesso alla fine, si trova chiuso in una piccola
gabbia. Da molto tempo è chiuso in gabbia Alvin, non può camminare,
vedere il sole, non ha più nulla. Eppure quando ci vede ci sorride,
speranzoso. Lui non lo sa che è diventato vecchio, brutto, malato.
Pensa ancora di essere bello, giovane, perché il suo cuore è ancora
pieno di dolcezza, come prima, solo il suo corpo è invecchiato. Lui
pensa ancora di poter essere scelto. C’era una bellissima canzone che
diceva, Dai diamanti non nasce niente, dal letame nascono i fior…. Per
dire che anche dagli esseri più sfortunati, i più sofferenti, gli ultimi
degli ultimi, possono venire dei raggi di luce.
Alvin è questo, un piccolo raggio di luce, che finora nessuno ha mai
voluto con sé. Può essere adottato da chi non ha altri gatti, non è
contagioso per gli umani, oppure da chi ha un altro gatto fiv e felv
positivo. Fate un gesto di amore, lui è buonissimo, coccolone, dolce,
non ha mai avuto niente, ha sempre dovuto mendicare tutto. E adesso è
malato e sta arrivando alla fine.
Non lasciamo che muoia da solo in una gabbietta di ferro, da cui non è
più uscito. Facciamo che sorrida felice nella nostra casa, ignaro della
sua vecchiaia, della sua bruttezza, della sua malattia. Felice come il
gatto giovane e bello che era un tempo, solo per il nostro amore.
