An Tagen mit Sonnenschein, egal von welcher Richtung er auch kommt - er wird in diesem Raum immer präsent sein - bekommt man Probleme... Das Superweitwinkel saugt das Licht wie ein Magnet an und löst Gegenlichtreflektionen aus. Vielleicht ist Nebel das beste Wetter für diesen Raum...
Note: Been having a lot of problems with Flickr lately and it appears I still am even with using Chrome instead of Mozilla! (thank goodness it didn't start happening until I had awarded several others in The New Masterclass group!)
I am not sure if this is something with Flickr or it is my computer!
At any rate, I am taking my computer in and having a full recovery done today so that hopefully everything will be fine and STAY running smoothly.

Un braccialetto colorato , nel vento fresco di una mattina di primavera , legato alla ringhiera della passeggiata Anita Garibaldi, di Nervi.
Uno di quei braccialetti che si comprano di solito sulle spiagge, o vengono regalati, come ricordo di un'estate ormai terminata.
Essi sono considerati segno di speranza per molte persone. Prima di indossarlo infatti si esprime un desiderio. Le credenze dicono che esso si esaudira' nel momento in cui il braccialetto si spezzera' da solo o, con il passare del tempo, si scioglierà.
La tradizione parte dai brasiliani, che credevano davvero in un potere mistico che veniva trasferito dalla mente all'oggetto.
La forza del desiderio sarebbe stata trasmessa all'accessorio che, mandando un messaggio all'Universo, avrebbe portato alla soluzione del problema. Il colore alla base del bracciale sarà quello riguardante la sfera del desiderio.
Ecco, io vorrei il viola della pace, il rosso dell'amore, il verde della speranza...

“So, what are you worried about, Sky?” Asked Barnaby as the bears gathered around for the man to take their photograph.
“Quite a lot, Barnaby. Honey supplies for a start.”
“Honey supplies, Sky? What is the problem?” Asked Bertie also looking concerned.
“It all comes down to the man. He is trying different places where he gets his food from using the complonker. He uses new digits to order and while I have watched and think I have the new ones I was not sure.”
“Sky, the man had the usual van deliver his things last week, I saw it there and was waiting for our stuff but it did not come.” Said Posh Bear.
“No, it is all getting confusing. The man seems to be ordering from both the new one and the old one, which makes it difficult for me to know which one to add our things to. Anyway, I think the man is going bonkers.” Said Sky.
“I quite agree, Sky, but then we have always thought that.” Said Bertie smiling.
“No, I mean totally bonkers, Bertie. When the man had a friend around here recently, I noticed that they were both talking to a green growing plant his has. He has even given it a name and was calling it Vera and he was saying hello to it. It didn’t answer, and his friend even tried but the plant ignored them.”
“Are you sure, Sky?” Asked Posh Bear looking worried.
“Yes, they both kept on saying hello Vera to this plant. Is that weird or what? Then he starts ordering his things from two suppliers.”
“That is very strange behaviour, Sky, I agree. I wonder why he called it Vera? Why not Sky, Bertie, Theo, or Posh, like we are called? Why give the green thing that grows a name at all? All very strange, but not that important to us bears. Now, the possible lack of honey, well that is different.” Said Posh Bear.
“Luckily Posh, we have a genius at the helm of ordering, and I have taken measures to make certain that we still can order from now on.”
“Sky is such a genius.” Said Barnaby looking in admiration at his friend.
“I know, Barnaby, but as I was saying.” Said Sky
“So modest with it too.” Chimed in Bertie giggling.
“As I was saying, I am now ordering from both suppliers, however, there is a slight problem in that if they both supply, we may have a little more than normal.”
“You say a little more, Sky, roughly how much more?” Asked Posh Bear.
“Well, just in case one supplier did not send us what we ordered, I added extra to both orders. Well, I think I did for I was never much good at numbers, so, well I think we had better make extra room to store what comes.”
“So, is it fair to say that you do not know what you ordered then, Sky?” Asked Bertie.
“Well, I am not totally sure, Bertie, but if you need to know I am sure that Vera would know for she was looking at the screen as I did the ordering. So, do you speak green growing thingy, Bertie?”
“Time will tell, Bertie, we will soon find out.” Said Posh Bear smiling.

This is the north end of main street on a very foggy early Saturday morning. This is quite unusual for it to be this vacant and lonely looking!
It was during our warmer and foggy weather after Christmas. Climate change . . . always a great debate!

Door het aanhoudende slechte weer werden er in juli van dit jaar slechts vijf foto's geschoten, iets wat je normaliter bij december of januari verwacht. Desondanks konden er in deze vijf foto's wel twee doelen op "Belgisch" gebied afgestreept worden, waarbij de zinkertstrein in Budel natuurlijk niet geheel Belgisch is gezien de trein daar net Nederland binnen is gereden, maar je snapt het idee. Dat andere doel was nog altijd de welbekende PTA silotrein van Crossrail vastleggen welke een aantal dagen in de week rond 16:45 vanaf Antwerpen Noord naar Geel vertrekt. Deze trein rijdt enkel in het buitengebied van Ekeren met een goede zonstand, maar gelukkig zijn daar een aantal verschillende mogelijkheden qua stekken.
Terwijl Nederland weer grotendeels onder de bewolking leefde, kon het zuiden van het land en daarbij ook België genieten van een zonovergoten dinsdag 18 juli. Voor deze dag was er een rit van Infrabel vanuit Essen aangekondigd met een HLD62 en een aantal tremels. Het was de bedoeling dat de trein 's ochtends Essen zou verlaten, maar door problemen bleef de trein uiteindelijk de hele dag in het grensstation kamperen. Dit bracht mij tot de mogelijkheid om na de ochtenddienst naar Essen te rijden om het geheel in de bundel vast te leggen. Natuurlijk had ik niet enkel de trein van Infrabel in m'n hoofd, want de dinsdag is ook een standaard rijdag voor de silowagentrein van Crossrail. Nu ik toch in de buurt was moest het er maar meteen van komen. Toen ik hoorde dat de trein voortgetrokken zou worden door de rode DE6310 was ik compleet overgehaald. Nadat de trein van Infrabel succesvol op de foto was gezet, werd de navigatie ingesteld op Ekeren.
Na een ruim halfuur rijden arriveerde ik dan op het smalle stukje asfalt parallel aan het spoor, wat aan het begin van de welbekende boog overgaat in een bandenspoorpaadje. Terwijl ik onderweg was naar Ekeren kreeg ik te horen dat de trein deze dag uit de wereldse lengte van vier wagens zou bestaan, wat gelukkig net lang genoeg is om het mooi te houden. Soms is het nog wel eens een uitdaging om in de krappe boog de gehele treinlengte op de foto te krijgen, maar je snapt natuurlijk dat dat deze dag geen enkele problemen zou gaan opleveren. Hierdoor kon ik midden in de boog plaatsnemen wat het meest gunstig was voor de zonnestand, iets wat met een trein op "normale" lengte niet echt haalbaar is. Daarnaast vallen treinen met weinig lengte makkelijk weg in de foto, maar door de boog is de trein veel beter zichtbaar, ideaal dus. Nadat de fotografeergiraffe weer in de lucht stond, kon het wachten beginnen, wat niet langer dan twintig minuten duurde.
Het is 16:50 als de Crossrail DE6310 stationair draaiend aan de fotograaf te Ekeren voorbij rolt. Met de minste moeite sleept ze in totaal vier PTA silowagens als trein 60273 achter zich aan en is zojuist vertrokken vanaf Antwerpen Noord. Net als de trein is de rit ook niet zo lang, want over een dik uur bereikt ze alweer haar bestemming welke ze vindt bij BP Chembel in Geel!

Here are another picture of the very nice cascades near Soubey (Jura, Switzerland). With all the snow melting above, in the Franches-Montagnes, it was a real flood.
As you can see on this shot, the framing is rather unperfect : the left side is kind of messy and blurry, there's this perspective in the upper right corner that could have been intensified. Moreover, it's not totally at horizon level : all I had to do was to go a little lower with the tripod rotate the camera. That was my first plan.
The problem was : I wore shitty shoes and I stood upon a slippery rock covered with moss. What had to happen happened : I slipped, the tripod slipped and my 100D fall directly in the water in a very nice "sloosh".
Fortunately, it remained in the water less than 5 seconds and the screen was still showing this picture when I removed the battery. It is now in a kilogramme of long grain USA parboiled rice, and will stay there until tomorrow evening. I hope it will manage to dry it completely. I have some hope to save it ...
However, saving the lens would probably be a miracle, but I try anyway with the same trick ... Now I just have to wait, pray and see ...
So I am happy to show you this very last shot of my (maybe) dead buddy. I hope I did not became a photographer without a camera ...

And now : the end of the story : I tried the camera this morning. The body seem to work perfectly fine. The lens AF and stabilizer work as well, but there's some dirt on the lenses inside, so I'll probably have to make it clean. Then, it's always possible to have some rust on electronic components. I'll see in the future.
So the rice trick works, but I definitely think that what saved my camera is the fact that I removed the battery very quickly. What you don't want is some short-circuits on electronic components that heat and burn after a few seconds (they are small, so it can happen really fast). Without electrical power, much less risk to get damages.

The other night for my photo of the Ferris Wheel, I mentioned frustrations I was having with getting the IR remote shutter release working. I was determined to fix it or ditch it....and fix it I did. In celebration we had a Mexican dinner down at Redcliffe where I shot this scene of the quite low light on the Jetty across the road. It was only 6.00pm, we got away early. Winter!
Vanwege problemen met de normale 189'ers uit de 28x reeks van TXL werden er bij uitzondering Italiaans geschikte 189'ers ingezet. Voordeel van deze serie is dat er een aantal leuke exemplaren tussen zitten zoals de Paardenloc 189 997. Op zondag reed de 189 989 de Numushuttle zoals we hier zien bij Haaften.

Well I am on the move again. I am now at a wonderful farm (house sitting till Nov).... yeh! I can bring my horse. She is the dark one in front. The boss of Maggie.. but not me. Maggie is my sisters 3 year old mare. Maggie is so funny. She is just like a curious puppy and always getting into things, wanting to smell it and put it in her mouth. and a real sweety.
I have ridden Cricket a few times and feels good to be in the saddle.
Having internet problems and sometimes I cannot even connect.
