Taken as a detail of a bldg complex of very minimal architectural details. The previous photo shows one of the 3 colorful structures — red, blue, & beige — the shapes remind me of granneries — the designer chose to make color & form the foremost aspects — the stairs to these 2-story bldgs are painted in bold contrasting colors and further accented as you see here with the otherwise ordinary block walls also being painted in more bold contrasting colors.

 

The landscaping is minimal & compliments the minimalization of the project.

 

I have wanted to photo this group for a while now — was in the area on this day and decided to stop for a quick shot — the 'quick shot' turned into a half hour of eye candy for me — such as this macro shot of a set of stairs (2 flights) with the block wall about 10 feet behind it. — More photos to come.

Looking through your pre-sorted pictures that haven’t been treated yet, you find this failed attempt to capture a crisp dynamic skateboard moment. The crop is wrong, the focus is way off, the colours are weird and everything is cut off at weird points and angles.

 

This is wrong…….wrong on so many levels, it just is bang on.

 

This picture represents everything I love about taking pictures….it breathes , lives, tells a story and doesn’t care about how L the equipment was, involved in its capture. It is one of those pictures that has to ripen, like a good friend of mine always says. Although not being right there in your face when you did the first check, you didn’t delete it as trash straight away…..left it here….waiting to suddenly pop up and shout:

Look at me, it is me…..I am wrong…….wrong on so many levels, I’m just bang on.

Done at the Skatepark Ladenburg with the 24-105mm F4 at almost 100mm and 1/3200sec.

This one, being wrong on so many levels, works for me exactly because it is wrong on so many levels.

I finally found a red bowl! We spent 3 hours at a huge garage sale finding nothing. We decided to take a break and look at some of the stores on a nearby street and there was the red bowl! I have seen red bowls at antique stores for $30 and $40! This one was $9 and has made me so happy!

Standing in the side road approaching Bruntsfield Primary School on a sunny evening. Unusually there was no traffic for a few moments, so I stood in the middle of the road to take a couple of pics and video lookin to the school, then back down along the street towards the main road.

Italian Navy Ship ITS ANDREA DORIA (D553) arriving at Portsmouth Naval Base, Hampshire, UK for her second visit in as many weeks.

 

Andrea Doria leads the Italian half of the Horizon-class which is recognized locally as the "Orizonte-class" (and also the Andrea Doria-class). The primary classification of the warship is destroyer though its qualities can also make the vessel a frigate in some sources.

 

The warship was ordered on October 27th, 2000 and built by Fincantieri shipbuilders of Riva Trigoso. Her keel was laid down on July 19th, 2002 and she was launched on October 14th, 2005. The vessel was formally commissioned on December 22nd, 2007.
