Giovedì 2 febbraio 2023, alle ore 17:00, presso la Biblioteca Universitaria di Pavia, si è tenuta la presentazione del libro “Lo sguardo della caduta: Agostino e la superbia del secolarismo” di Marcello Pera, politico, filosofo, senatore della Repubblica.
Uno dei primi eventi di carattere culturale promossi dal Comitato Pavia città di sant’Agostino per l’anno agostiniano 2023, che ricorda il XIII centenario del trasporto del corpo del Santo a Pavia.
Senatore della Repubblica, il Professor Pera è stato ordinario di Filosofia della Scienza all’Università di Pisa e autore di numerosi studi attorno a personalità della filosofia e della scienza come Hume, Kant, Galvani, Volta, ed è stato presidente del Senato nella XIV legislatura.
Hanno presentato il libro due professori dell’Università di Pavia: Giampaolo Azzoni, Ordinario di Filosofia del Diritto e Prorettore vicario dell’Università di Pavia, che nella sua attività di ricerca è particolarmente interessato alle connessioni tra contemporaneità e cultura classica; Fabio Rugge, Professore emerito di Storia delle Istituzioni politiche e già Rettore dello stesso Ateneo, oltre che Grand’Ufficiale dell’Ordine al merito della Repubblica, che ha estesamente pubblicato su temi dello stato e del potere politico nella modernità.
“L’Occidente vive una crisi spirituale profonda. Il libro di Marcello Pera avanza la tesi che il secolarismo (inteso come allontanamento di società e stato dai valori religiosi) sia componente e fattore di quella crisi. Tanto più preziosa risulta allora la voce di Agostino, che ci fa giungere attraverso i secoli un messaggio in cui l’Autore suggerisce di rinvenire l’antidoto ai veleni del presente.” (F. Rugge).
Il Comitato Pavia città di sant’Agostino ringrazia per la collaborazione alla realizzazione dell’evento, oltre alla Biblioteca Universitaria di Pavia che lo ospita, anche l’Università di Pavia, il Collegio Borromeo e la Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lombardia.

Her father Chen Wancheng was the 20th generation descendant from the ancestor Chen Xiufu [Official name: Guangludafu, an official who was close to the Emperor, and acted according to the edict of the Emperor, also the founding hero of the Ming Dynasty, from Wuhua, Guangdong.], who was nominated as the military Marshal by Ming Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang in Hongwu 18th year (1385 A.D.) Ming Dynasty. She has inherited the family handed-down ancestral collection, including valuable ceramics, jade carved works of art, antiques, bronzes, and Chinese paintings moving from mainland China to Taiwan since Qing dynasty, from her father Chen Wancheng and has been trained to be a good professional collector and an excellent appraiser by family education since childhood for over 80 years.

Now I got eyechips from Atelier Matin (THANKS!!) and then I also painted her eye makeup off-white with glitter applied on.
I see that some glitter got stuck on the eyechips, haha I have to remove it! :)
