so i have an additional story to go along with today.
i went with my friend rachel to eat dinner at the hard times cafe in minneapolis around 8pm. we were enjoying our late dinner, when we were approached by a clearly homeless black man with no front teeth. he was adorable and carrying a GIANT box full of flowers. we were then each given one.
this is the second time ive been given a flower by a stranger. honestly it is one of my favorite things in the whole world. im keeping it in a glass on my desk until it dies, to remind me that every day is full of surprises.
i just had to take a photo of my present.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: When I first heard about the Present Surprise line while updating my personal L.O.L. Surprise guide, it didn't seem like something I'd be crazy about. Oh, how I was wrong! As I researched photos of each doll, I progressively fell more in love. When the dolls finally hit shelves at my local Walmart, it took every fiber of my being to not purchase one. As each week passed, I could feel that resolve slowly deteriorating. I figured eventually I would purchase one of these Present Surprise gals, especially what with their $10ish price tag. Despite their surprise gimmick, I knew I'd be more than happy with any of the dolls from this set. The day finally came in early November 2020. Colleen and I had to stop in at Walmart after our weekly flea market excursion. She was almost out of allergy medication, and what with the flare up she was experiencing, we had to get more. Of course, while we were there getting a necessity, the toy section pop in was mandatory. I finally caved and picked out one of these Present Surprise boxes. While I was most hopeful I'd get Pumpkin Spice or Jubilee, I was happy to own any one of these twelve delightful tots. I unwrapped the mystery doll's outfit first, and concluded she was Holidaze when I compared the garments to the checklist that was included. I was pleased with this turn out, but that instantly morphed into erratic excitement when I unwrapped the doll herself. Lordy, this tot melted my heart into a puddle the moment we met. She has this glorious satin finish that makes all her features shimmer in the light. Her all blue color scheme is equally as charming, as is this cheerful bob hairdo. The only downside is I will have to seek more of these Present Surprise dolls either secondhand or on eBay already opened. To buy one brand new at the store again could result in unintentionally getting another Holidaze...not that it would be a crime!
I've wanted to see a Spruce Grouse (Canachites canadensis) since I was a lad. Today I not only saw one, but it posed for my wife and me. A lovely wedding anniversary present for us in Algonquin Park, Ontario.
As a small gift to my work colleagues this Christmas, I created these Lego Christmas Presents.
I sourced the required Lego pieces from www.bricklink.com, created the instructions using MLCad/LDView/Adobe Illustrator, and packaged them up in little zip-lock packets.
For the colleagues in my immediate team, I also attached the Lego Christmas Presents to a small packet of Lindt Lindor Chocolate Truffles.
In total I created 130 of these, with 50 distinct colour combinations.
Merry Christmas everyone!
いよいよ引越しです。

そして、姪っ子ちゃんからのプレゼント。彼女の心をいただきました。
This is the Abandoned NovaCare showing what it used to look like when it was in operation, and what it looks like now. I think the Bottom image is from maybe 2010 or 2011. And the top image is what it currently looks like sitting abandoned and decaying.

It finally happened. I have my first MSD! :D Many of you know that I have been debating over which MSD I should get for quite some time now. I had narrowed it down to a Bambicrony Brava Bambi (Emily or Ellen) or a Fairyland Minifee (Rheia or Shushu). So... how did I end up with a Luts Kid Delf? Well, it's a crazy story, really. It's not that I had never considered getting a KDF before, because I have, but none of the female sculpts really "spoke" to me. However, there was always one sculpt that always caught my eye: Mill...but Mill is sold as a boy, and only a boy...and I wanted a girl...so I had pretty much decided that I wouldn't ever get a KDF unless they released new sculpts.
One night a couple of weeks ago I happened to be perusing DoA when I spotted a listing Meggilu had for a Kid Delf Mill (GIRL!!) head. As soon as I saw Meggilu's photos I just knew that she was *the one* I managed to find a body here in the US and finished putting this beauty together yesterday. I am completely smitten ♥ I feel as though she was made just for me--in my eyes she is absolutely perfect.
Now she just needs a name.....
Punto de fuga era el tema del tercer Concurso Social de la temporada en la af/G, y esta fue la opción que presenté, pasó el corte de clasificación por los pelos, pero genero un amplio debate entre los asistentes.
“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.”

Another 14-metre coach has joined the Quicksilver fleet but only as a seasonal hire to cope with demand over the Christmas period, and it is expected to return to the supplying dealer in the new year. Registered NE14 XTB, it is one of the Scania OmniExpress tri-axles built by Lahden in Finland, and like the Jonckheere SHV is a Roger Hey scratchbuild. The long-term plan for the model is for it to receive Motts Travel livery, but it can operate for Quicksilver until I get round to doing that.

I love my present.
What I lived until now, it's mine. It's me.
I didn't love what I was, but now I do. And I think this is the beginning of something called freedom.
I fight less and less against myself. Anyway, I never won ;)

Sometimes, I'm not sure what, and don't even know why, I'm doing this... but, there is something inside of me that yells "create and share... and don't worry because it will make sense in the end, just keep doing it"... and that is why I decided to name this voice "Present".
