Huge amount of linoleum underneath the carpet around door, and we've been balancing on one foot inside a square the size of a postage stamp trying to keep carpet clean while taking off shoes... sigh.

Face paint for the little hobo.

After climbing the Andes, we came back down to Santiago and visited Mercado Central, the city’s bustling market, before flying back to the United States.

We finally got the sod laid in the backyard. It looks SO great.

Ben is a champion. He filled in the entire pond with dirt, did all of the prepwork and ground clearing around the area.

And also, my lower back is KILLING ME.

You can see before picutres of the pond here. We really did love the way the pond looked and stuff but it was one problem after the other after the other. This way we have more backyard space to use and enjoy with MUCH less hassle.

Den wall looking West. Paint is a copper metallic. Took about 4 coats to finish it. That doesn't include the 2 coats of primer.

I picked this yarn up at Yarn's Unlimited's going-out-of-business sale. It's called Love Wool, a wool/alpaca blend.

The growing season starts today, We need to prepare the garden. A pollinator garden is a garden that attracts pollinators by growing plants that produce nectar and pollen. These gardens help support pollinators, which are insects and animals that help produce food for humans. We are planting seed that is native to Oklahoma.

Prepping the wall

bottom - artist Madeline Matanick has begun outlining what is to come, a flower garden to cheer your spirits year round.

My sons dug trenches in the garden, laid in compost, and cleaned up the yard. They are such a big help! This pic featured on my blog Family Earthprint:

Here are some turnips from last year! we missed, they survived winter! Most of them were soggy and ruined, but a few were ok.

This is a continuation of my prep work for my codfish project. (Along with 49 other local artists, I am decorating a wooden fish to donate to the Marblehead Art Fest.) I am trying out my ideas on scrap lumber before working on the actual wooden fish cutout. I have been trying to create the illusion of scales by painting through a net with gold paint. But the result wasn't as reliable as it needed to be. After a number of tries, the net itself had been painted gold. That gave me the idea of actually using gold painted netting as an element of the collage. This is a trial run to see how that would look. To be continued. . . .

2013-JUN-13; Mark Bauer is "tired" from all the work he did stuffing envelopes for the Tarrant County Stonewall Democrats annual Spring Extravaganza.

It's kind of dim in here right now, but the patterns are cool.

A look at how the work was planned: under the painted section is a chalk outline - done free hand at the beginning.
