I knew what it was as soon as I saw it. :) Paleontological preparator preparing a Thrinaxodon from Antarctica in the Antarctic Dinosaurs Exhibit at the Museum of Natural History of Los Angeles County. Fascinating watching them work on these and see exhibits showing the international research going on in Antarctica.
Sorry for so many photos, just saving a few memories.
While I was living in Cambodia I used to watch the kickboxing matches almost every weekend. Usually I went to the matches at the Women's and Veterans' Ministry arena (yes, that is one ministry). Those took place on Sunday, and were held in a much bigger arena that was a permanent structure. Sometimes I went to the Saturday matches, which took place in a sort of tent on the grounds of one of Phnom Penh's TV stations.
This is at TV 5, and shows one of the boxers doing the prepatory dance that opens each bout.
Prepare to battle.......

Our squirrel has even sought out the storage shed! I think he is waiting for me to get out of his way so he can add this cone to the firewood stacked below him.
LONGGA, CHINA - FEBRUARY 6: Teenage girls of the Long Horn Miao ethnic minority group wear headdresses as they prepare as they gather forTiaohua or Flower Festival as part of the Lunar New Year on February 6, 2017 in Longga village, Guizhou province, southern China. The Long Horn Miao are recognized for their declining practice of wrapping a blend of linen, wool, and the hair of their ancestors around animal horns or a wooden clip to make headdresses. Many young women say they now wear the headdresses only for special occasions and festivals, as the ornaments, which are attached by the horns to their real hair, have proved impractical for modern daily life in a fast changing world. China officially recognizes 56 different ethnic minorities, and statistics show over 7 million Chinese identifying themselves as Miao. But the small Long Horn Miao community counts only around 5000 people living in 12 villages, whose age-old traditions, language, and culture are fading. It is increasingly difficult in a modernizing China, as young people are drawn from remote rural villages to opportunities in bigger cities amongst wide-scale urbanization. Farming and labour remain the mainstays of life for the Long Horn Miao, leaving the area relatively poor in comparison with many parts of China. The government has invested significant amounts into local infrastructure and the tourism industry to try to bolster the local economy. (Photo by Kevin Frayer/Getty Images)

I think on average I drank at least 4 cups a tea a day in India. I really dont like milk in my tea and it was always such a shock to everyone. Even when you say black tea in India they still load it with sugar...I went back to her house a few days after this and the first thing she said to me was "black tea?"
Morning. Bored, I went into the kitchen. My wife was preparing sambar, a popular dish made of dhal [lentils], drumsticks, onions, tomatoes, chillies and other vegetables. What you see is the simpler version.
Goes well with rice. Very healthy, easy to digest. Spicy.

This is zhacai, the tuber of a special kind of mustard plant from Sichuan. Like kimchi it's first salted and pressed to dehydrated, then it's rubbed with chilipaste and put in earthware pots to fermentate.
Rinse and chop up finely to use in stirfies and other dishes.
