Such boring colors. I really can't stand the lack of imagination that cars manufacturers or cookie-cutter house developers have in their colors. I miss the '50s, before I was born, when cars and houses had character.

Steamed with some chopped black beans, ginger and garlic. Then sprinkled with some spring onion and red chile. They weren't that good, tasted a bit "fishy". I would love to try them fresh. And maybe I already have, I have this very nice memory of a dish in China. Never new exactly what it was, but I suspect it could have been pissing shrimp. :-)

Like many Spaniards, he is very particular about his paellas. Although this was a fish paella, he also makes an excellent rabbit paella for which he says he must have freshly killed rabbits.

As I was preparing this year I realized this is my 24th year of throwing this party one way or the other. I think that it may be time for a change and I may end the tradition next year. The main issue is that the guest list - or the guest list I'd like to have - has become so big that I can't accommodate everyone in my little house. I had to make cuts this year that made me sad, and probably hurt some peoples' feelings. That's not good. ;-/

But I think that making a change will be good and bring new life to an old tradition. In the meantime I'll be planning for year number 25.
