The Leopard seal (Hydrurga leptonyx) is the second largest species of seal in the Antarctic (after the Southern Elephant Seal). It is most common in the southern hemisphere along the coast of Antarctica and on most sub-Antarctic islands, but can also be found on the coasts of southern Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and the Atlantic coast of South America. It can live twenty-six years, possibly more. Orcas and large sharks are the only natural predators of leopard seals.
The leopard seal is large and muscular, with a dark grey back and light grey on its stomach. Its throat is whitish with the black spots that give the seal its common name.
Compared to most phocids, the Leopard seal is highly evolved for its role as apex predator. Although it is a true seal and swims with its hind limbs, it has powerful and highly developed forelimbs similar to sea lions, giving it a similar maneuverability, a classic example of convergent evolution. - Wikipedia

A school of Bermuda chub give wide berth to a pesky barracuda. Waiting for one fish to make a mistake that will end in a shoper of scales, the barracuda's actions are very slow and deliberate...at least until the time to act. Lightning quick, the poor chub who isn't paying attention will never know what hit him.
It has been a long time since I posted any picture here! So enjoy this photo of my beloved Preddie. ;)

The Alaska terrain is among the toughest around for hunting and fishing. SeaArk`s Predator Series was designed with this fact in mind. Constructed from .125 gauge aluminum and a 3/16” heavy duty center keel this boat can take a beating. Equipped with a Mercury Sportjet engine and tunnel hull the Predator allows you to access very skinny waters and get to the big game you desire.
And this poor unfortunate jumping spider made one final, fatal jump into the aforementioned Daddy Long Legs Spider’s web. Oh dear!

Megalania was the largest predator in Australia during the last two million years. It was related to the living Perenti and Gould's Goanna, but was much larger - their maximum length was at least 5.5 metres and their maximum weight about 600 kg. This is twice the length of their closest living relative, the Komodo Dragon of eastern Indonesia.
Megalania was a carnivore. It is uncertain whether it could attack and kill the rhinoceros-sized Diprotodon optatum, but it certainly would have feasted on dead individuals it found as carrion.
Fossil bones amounting to about 20% of the skeleton of Megalania have been found in eastern Australia, particularly the Darling Downs of Queensland. The articulated skeleton on display at Melbourne Museum has been constructed from casts of these bones and by extrapolating from the corresponding bones of goannas.
i would like to thank Mugley for his correction ;-)
