37191 powers away from Castle Cary in Somerset with 2O87, the 0758 Cardiff to Weymouth service in July 1992. At least four individuals are enjoying the view from the cab of 37191 on this occasion.
During the school summer holidays in the summer of 1992 this working was booked for a Regional Railways Infrastructure subsector locomotive together with a full rake of early Mk 2 coaches. The 4th, 6th and 7th coaches carry debranded Trans Pennine-liveried coaches, which were released from that route in late 1990.

As hard to believe as it might be, this picture and the last one I posted are related.
Last week, SD40u's 6006 and 6021 made their way to Northern Quebec, probably for the first time in over two decades. Along with sister BLE 908, the trio of SD40s assigned to Stevens Point, WI are being leased to the Roberval & Saguenay railway as they are extremely power short.
6000s Have always been a personal favorite for as long as I can remember. I've travelled countless kilometres and hours to the Twin Ports and Upper Peninsula hoping to catch one leading but alas, never got lucky on the Iron Range. That situation changed in May, coming back from a trip on the RCPE in South Dakota. where I caught 6006 leading train 552 to Quinnesec,MI.
Not gonna lie, 6000s being leased to the Roberval & Saguenay wasn't on my 2025 bingo card. But I'm looking forward to shoot them so close to home, very soon.

Built in 1854, the Powers-Walker house is on the high ground west of the Lost Valley Marsh. Volunteers have been working to restore the home to its 19th century appearance. Thanks for looking.

I popped in here first to see this train, before trying my luck with the 'Merry Wherry' railtour down the road at Prickwillow.
By pure luck, this train came through just as the sun hit a nice, blue hole. Therefore, I captured both the trains on camera that I wanted to photograph, with the sun out. Quite an achievement I think, with all that cloud about!
CN L552 begins to enter the Iron Mountains Subdivision and pass under the "tunnel" at Powers with an SD40U and SD60 for power.
BNSF ES44AC No. 6017, one of the 25th Anniversary locomotives, powers this 7-car Billings, Montana, to Topeka, Kansas, OCS train south near downtown Loveland, Colorado, on June 23, 2021. The seven-car train included the following cars: Cajon Pass, Mount Rainier, Stevens Pass, Marias Pass, Raton Pass, Fred Harvey, and William Barstow Strong.

Well due to internet problems I've missed a few days on Flickr. I haven't kicked the bucket yet but my modum did. I'll post a couple this evening and hopefully again tomorrow if work doesn't overwhelm me. This shot is by Joe Seidl and has CNW train PRANA powered by WC 312 and 4310 at Powers on January 5, 1994. The WC had stored the ex GB&W Alco's within a couple weeks of buying the GB&W and FRVR but power short in a bitter winter 93-94 a few of the Alco's were called back into service to mostly switch Green Bay. The WC often supplied power to CNW for the PRANA/ANPRA trains north of Green Bay and those became another location the ex GB&W Alco's worked to the chagrin of the CNW crews who had seen there last Alco's in 1986. this is KL, an her twin bro, Lynx, they only have max power wen they r touching hands, there powers r all the elements, mind reading, time travel, but Lynx can multiply himself to as many of him's as he needs/wants, an KL can activate her mongeyko sharingon, an use the one-thousand birds kakashi hatake move.
but they hate each other, so its hard for them to hold hands, they haven't seen or heard frum each other in 6 1/2 years, how they survived w/ half-power all those years is a suprise to everyone.
The conductor on L552 is on the point of CN 8858 and is about to make a pick up from the west wye at Powers to take to the papermill at Quinnesec MI.
CNW train ESGBA leaves Powers behind after doing the local work and connecting with the turn from Antoine on June 25, 1986. 6729, 6712 and 4140 have the Green Bay bound freight well in hand on a beautiful summer morning. The trailing geep is an unpleasant reminder that the Bigs are on borrowed time and will not survive 1986 in service. Only a couple months prior to this shot and the B-B trailer would have likely have been a C425 or RS32 but they were already retired and on there way to St. Louis Auto Shredding.
