Opportunities to find deeper powers within ourselves come when life seems most challenging.

"You will play! You will play! You will play! " broadcasted Jasper through the powers of his mind. Then suddenly, inexplicably, I got up to play. Amazing how we fall victim to the powers of a dog's telepathy
Shot back in 2011 in West Kelowna. This is a bit of a hike through the woods carrying my tripod and camera gear, as well as BEAR SPRAY.

Boggle Hole is a small cove with uniquely curved-out hollows, worn away by the action of the sea and lies at the foot of a wooded valley. The curious name derives from boggle, or goblin, which legend states are said to haunt the slopes.
A Boggle is the local northern dialect name for a hobgoblin, the mischievous ‘little people’ that were thought to live in caves along the coast as well as the more remote corners of the Moors. Local people used to believe that Boggles had healing powers, and would sometimes bring their sick children to holes, called “hob holes”, where Boggles were thought to live, in the hope that they would be cured.
In times past, smugglers used to land and hide their contraband in the caves at Boggle Hole. Now the haunt of geologists and fossil hunters, this rocky foreshore is a fascinating place to explore. The bay is site of special scientific interest (SSSI) where a a range of trace fossils can be found, including some superb ammonites. The beach is dog friendly, has rock pools and is sand on one side and pebbles on the other.
“Ukraine is resisting one of the greatest powers in the world, one of the most cruel and unprincipled tyrannies of our time. And the mere fact that Ukraine exists, that it has resisted the aggressor for a long time and is fighting, despite all the challenges and difficulties, cannot but inspire hope.”
Metropolitan Epiphanius, April 20, 2025
“Україна чинить спротив одній з найбільших держав світу, одній з найбільш жорстоких і безпринципних тираній сучасності. І вже одне лиш те, що Україна є, що вона довго протистоїть агресору і бореться, попри всі виклики та труднощі, – не може не надихати надією.”

The Powers Building in Rochester, New York. Construction began in 1865 and the initial phase was completed in 1868. Originally a five story building, more floors were added in order to maintain it's status as the tallest building in Rochester. Today there are 9 stories measuring 165 feet, and ranks 20th among the tallest buildings in Rochester.

new construction, but not a bad attempt at re-creation...the chrome is inauthentic though; stainless was typical in the originals
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
Built in 1854, the Powers-Walker house is on the high ground west of the Lost Valley Marsh. Volunteers have been working to restore the home to its 19th century appearance. Thanks for looking.

Wanted to see what these legends would look like, fleshed-out and modernized, so here they are! I might make some more of the characters another time, just need the right pieces.
Let me know what you think! :)

Well due to internet problems I've missed a few days on Flickr. I haven't kicked the bucket yet but my modum did. I'll post a couple this evening and hopefully again tomorrow if work doesn't overwhelm me. This shot is by Joe Seidl and has CNW train PRANA powered by WC 312 and 4310 at Powers on January 5, 1994. The WC had stored the ex GB&W Alco's within a couple weeks of buying the GB&W and FRVR but power short in a bitter winter 93-94 a few of the Alco's were called back into service to mostly switch Green Bay. The WC often supplied power to CNW for the PRANA/ANPRA trains north of Green Bay and those became another location the ex GB&W Alco's worked to the chagrin of the CNW crews who had seen there last Alco's in 1986. Chuck Schwesinger collection.
this is KL, an her twin bro, Lynx, they only have max power wen they r touching hands, there powers r all the elements, mind reading, time travel, but Lynx can multiply himself to as many of him's as he needs/wants, an KL can activate her mongeyko sharingon, an use the one-thousand birds kakashi hatake move.
but they hate each other, so its hard for them to hold hands, they haven't seen or heard frum each other in 6 1/2 years, how they survived w/ half-power all those years is a suprise to everyone.
The conductor on L552 is on the point of CN 8858 and is about to make a pick up from the west wye at Powers to take to the papermill at Quinnesec MI.

CNW train ESGBA leaves Powers behind after doing the local work and connecting with the turn from Antoine on June 25, 1986. 6729, 6712 and 4140 have the Green Bay bound freight well in hand on a beautiful summer morning. The trailing geep is an unpleasant reminder that the Bigs are on borrowed time and will not survive 1986 in service. Only a couple months prior to this shot and the B-B trailer would have likely have been a C425 or RS32 but they were already retired and on there way to St. Louis Auto Shredding.

Same day as I shot the photo following this one in my photo stream June 25, 1986. 6717 and 4281 and 31 cars arrive at Powers on the Antoine turn. A few months earlier and that trailing geep would have been a 4 axle Alco but they were gone or nearly gone at this point leaving the big C628's to close out the Alco era on CNW in December 86. I apologize if I posted this shot earlier but it fit in here with posting all three of the trains I shot that morning in Powers.
