The American Bald eagle living up to its reputation. Nothing is more exciting to this photographer than catching one of these fellows in flight. It has been a good year.

Euastacus valentulus. Tweed River, NSW.

I was caught

In the middle of a railroad track

I looked round

And I knew there was no turning back

My mind raced

And I thought what could I do

And I knew

There was no help, no help from you... (lirics from the best rock'n'roll band ever)

For Telegraph Tuesday

The light produced by the setting sun is truly powerful, illuminating even the darkest of places.

Drax power station. The only coal powered station still under power, but burning wood pellets imported from the US. Once the most powerful power station in the UK, producing 6% of the UK power. Many questions over its sustainable credentials...but it does make or a good photo.

One of the most mesmerizing waterfalls on the Earth.

Yes, water itself so powerful, consider the flood around the world and some heavy rain.

Captured from the fountain in the park someday I have relaxed.

Thank you to keep clean water for the next generation:)

Bridal Veil Falls

Here is a Sulphur-Crested-Cockatoo and two Galahs enjoying the lovely afternoon sun.

One of the tastes of autumn, shot against a rain drop covered window. (You can tell it's raining when I fall back to still life :-) )

Did you know...

The antioxidant potential of a pomegranate is thought to be up to three times higher than that of green tea and red wine.

I've had to downgrade the resolution of this image, and introduce heavy watermarking, after finding other images on unauthorised sale. I apologise, as it now looks crap and a shadow of its former self.

Strigidae (Ninox strenua)

...some much needed brightness on this cloudy day. They say that spring will arrive this week. Let's hope!

The tremendous T's formed by the columns jumped out at me as I looked for a shot for Flickr Friday. Then I noticed all of the T's in the windows and had to go with this photo. This is the Old State House in Little Rock, Arkansas. Built in 1833 it was the original capitol of the state and is the oldest standing state capitol building west of the Mississippi.

The Powerful Pull

The Cliffs surrounding Sand Beach in Acadia National Park are illuminated a vibrant red during sunrise on a particularly good morning for alpenglow.

Powerful waterfall and a little intimidating with sheer cliffs and no rails combined with some light rain to make every step a little slick. My new favorite waterfall on the Black River in the Western Upper Peninsula.
